I had previously posted a negative review, citing the game's brutal difficulty and lack of information. Admittedly, my set up wasn't entirely fantastic. A semi-okay laptop, an uncomfortable postion, and a too far away screen led to me initially thinking the game was harder than it actually was. Upon getting up my propper gaming set up, I found the experience to be much easier to play.

While my first impressions were negative before, now they are positive. Apologies to those whom I argued with on my negative review. Will update this review with further information once I've had a chance to get into the nitty gritty with the game, but my second, first impressions are:

The combat is fluid and fun. Game runs well, looks phenominal and gameplay is a somewhat smooth rhythmic dance with the enemies. Some of the arenas your set to fight in are a bit too small for my liking, so smart positioning is needed.
Overall, a pretty good game so far once I managed to get a propper, comfortable set-up going. I learned the hard way that this game's difficulty is no joke, and taking it lightly (I.E, playing in a casual set up) is an easy way to boost the difficulty to (sometimes) ridiculous amounts.

Probably some of the most fun I've ever had communicating with other human beings.

[WARNING, THESE VIDEOS CONTAIN PRETTY DAMN OFFENSIVE HUMOUR.]
Stream Highlights Part 1
Stream Highlights Part 2

The Jackbox Party Pack 3 (and Drawful 2 to an extent) is what has given me and my friends hours and hours of fun, it's very easily a high recommendation from me.

Quiplash 2 and Tee-KO are by far the games me and my group has played the most. It's easily the funniest and most amusing of all the games in this pack. Tee-KO can get a bit frustrating if people draw things that aren't meant to be funny, but it's not that big of a deal and is pretty much just a preference in my group of people. We choose to play both Quiplash 2 and Tee-KO with a laid back attitude, usually on the basis of trying to be the most overwhelmingly offensive we can. The two videos I linked are good examples of that.

Guesspionage, while not quite funny, is definitely a worthwhile addition to the pack. It's results are sometimes surprising and the gameplay is satisfying overall. My main complaint (which is actually a REALLY big one) is that there aren't enough prompts in the game. In just two play sessions of the game lasting only about an hour in total, we had numerous repeated prompts, which could easily break the whole point of the game if enough of them appeared in a single session. Either way, it's good for a couple hours at least.

Trivia Murder Party, while also not funny, is still quite fun to play. Unless you're the king of random trivia facts, it's mostly down to luck or instinct on who wins. The minigames in-between questions remind me a bit of Mario Party, except with a lot more murder to it. Overall definitely a good addition to the pack, further increasing it's value in my opinion.

While I'd like to say that ♥♥♥♥♥' It is good, I actually can't. Not because it isn't, but because we can't play it. A majority of my group that plays aren't anywhere near me, meaning the physical aspect of the game is nigh impossible. It can only really be played in person with those other people in the game, making it obviously much less fitting for a stream atmosphere.
I'd say that ♥♥♥♥♥' It is maybe a bit of a bold move by Jackbox, considering how much they embraced the streaming aspect of their games in recent years. While ♥♥♥♥♥' It could probably be played somehow over a stream by jumping through hoops, it seems like a bit of an oversight.
So, I don't really consider ♥♥♥♥♥' It of any worth in this pack. It just takes up another space that could have been occupied by another game we could have actually played. If you have people next to you who can play, then it'll be of worth to you, but to streamers and/or people who play online, this one is basically a wiff.

Overall I'd say that the pack is definitely worth buying, even if you're a streamer. 4/5 of the games are very suited to streaming and are easily playable by both your friends and audience alike. There are many streamers who stream the game regularily, one being me. (So feel free to drop in whenever you like.)

Either way, fantastic fun for the whole family. Sometimes.

Amidst just an "okay" 2D platformer lies a cast of really interesting characters whom are this game's biggest strength. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't torn on weither I would recommend this game or not, but my view centres almost dead in the middle with a score that would probably be a 5/10. This is why ended up saying it isn't worth it. The price compared to the quality of content you get here is quite frankly a bad deal. With a few more pounds, you could get any of the two recent Shantae games instead.

Anyway, let me explain why I don't believe this game is worth it.

I think it would be best to start with the presentation, as that's most likely the thing to hook you in and try it. I was hooked in by the artwork by Gashi Gashi, an artist whom I had seen numerous times before. I felt excited to see their talent used for a video game, however, I was sorely disapointed when I found out that their artwork is only used in conversation segments of the game. The rest of the game boasts a fairly decent artstyle, albiet a bit... bad? In places? It varies on a level to level basis, seemingly almost at random. One good example is an underwater scene where for some reason the artstyle abruptly changes to matte and solid colours. Another one is a horseback riding scene where the background is the same style as the main game, but both your character and the enemies are coloured only in red and blue. Was there actually an art direction in this game?

This game doesn't look bad, I'm not saying it does, but it has a HUGE lack in consistency. Gashi Gashi's phenominal work atop the game's lukewarm, sometimes MS Paint esq artstyle creates a huge disconnect for me personally. One specific scene where you're on a dating show just looks... pretty bad. I spent most of my time looking at the conversation icons instead of the actual scene the characters were placed in.

The music to me is also a bit of a disapointment. There are a few tracks that really stand out and create such a nice atmosphere, like the one in the underwater segment, but the rest are pretty bland and generic. Mostly uninteresting songs you could shove into any 2D platformer and get similar results. At least the music is always there, unlike the sound design. I honestly began to wonder if the game was just horribly bugged to the point that some sounds just chose not to play. But nope, it turns out that there's just isn't that much sfx in the game anyway. It really does feel like there wasn't much of an effort to create a game that both looked and sounded interesting.

The gameplay is pretty much your typical 2D platformer, however, it's inspirations become very clear once you've played but a few levels. Most of it came from Shovel Knight if I had to guess. Grenade jumping somewhat like what the Plague Knight does with his bombs. Death mechanics which are pretty much just a copy paste. Stupid and unfair death pits which only serve to artificially increase the difficulty. There really isn't much new in this game to experience gameplay wise if you have already played Shovel Knight.
However what really does actually piss me off, is how the game introduces and throws away interesting game mechanics in the same level. Each Princess you capture has a different mechanic to them, but guess what? A majority of them are literally used once in the level you capture them in and no where else. There's one where throwing bombs creates a smoke cloud you can walk on, creating some very intriguing and interesting terrain puzzles. However after having 15 minutes of fun with it, it leaves never to be seen again. So much oppertunity was lost in making you just chug through every new game mechanic.

So, what can I praise in this game? It's characters. Each character is noticably diverse and interesting, their personalities shining through the sometimes brilliant writing that went into the story. Each character's interaction with each other is a delight to read, especially those involving Crow (the protagonist). Crow is smug, witty and overall a great hoot of a character to watch. His quips and comebacks to each situation keeps him feeling like the star of the show. The other characters are given a decent amount of time in the spotlight too, with the princesses all having a different view on Crow and their surroundings. It really is the biggest strength this game has, alongside it's character design maybe.

I could really see this game being right up WayForward's alley. It's 100% something they would do, but the excecution here is decent at best. It lacks overall quality in areas that it matters, polish is missing from all the levels which are quite blocky and uninteresting anyway, and it introduces and abandons interesting game mechanics a few minutes into their initial introduction.

Like I said, it's a 5/10. You may think I'm being too harsh, but for £10, I think my score is easily justified.

WARNING: Developer is trying to censor negative reviews and threads speaking negative about the game on the steam forums. They tried to flag another negative review: http://imgur.com/a/xk6lV
I got banned around a week ago for "arguing with a moderator": http://imgur.com/a/2PoS5
Developer sarcastically responding to people and calling someone pathetic: http://imgur.com/a/surtv

Edit 2:Here's my video on the game since I can now edit my review because the false, flag on my review has been removed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTfgIHUZFiI&t=0s

Edit 3: A majority of positive reviews this game has are either jokes, or straight up alternate accounts by the dev and/or his friends and colleagues. Most have one game in their account and a private profile. It's so incredibly obvious that I'm surprised Steam hasn't come in and dealt with it yet. My review was falsely flagged as "abusive", as was a majority of other negative reviews.

Want a summary? Jim Sterling put it best. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, both the game, and the developer's attitude and ignorance. They lie through their teeth and try to justify bans, deletions and copyright strikes on videos with futile attempts that a lawyer would take one look at and them immediately tell them to take a hike. Avoid this game and it's developer at all costs, all they want is your money, even if it means tricking as many people as they can into buying this asset flip of a disaster that frankly shouldn't be anywhere near steam.

Edit 4: Cover photo re-found by Mike Zwo - Oculus Rift on steam. (I say recovered because it was put on a threat that the developer later deleted again.) Here's where they come from. http://lassedesignen.de/

vvv (Original Review) vvv

Want an actual review of the game? Okay. It's an asset flip. Stock and store bought assets shoveled into a game with no artistic cohesion. The game has a story, it's almost entirely non-existant. Some dialogue is spoken through text to speech while the main character is played by a drab and boring sounding dude.

On the first level, you're handed two weapons and you're told to enter a mansion. When you enter the mansion, you no longer have those weapons. Oh and in the first level, you can't access the pause menu, you have to be inside the mansion before you can use it. Even when you could access the pause menu and get to the game options, they reset upon exiting the menu.

Random coins and collectables are littered about every level that look straight out of Mario. The collectables are usually floating shimmering jewels that make a really cartoonish jingle when you pick them up, because that definitely fits in with the theme of a secret agent killing people.

One of the levels was on a time gate where you have to run around and do nothing for approximately 10 minutes while the skybox slowly disapears into nothing.

There's a bonus level you can get at the end of the game which, if you turn around from where you spawn, you can see non-existant geometry in the level that you can walk off and into the endless abyss.

Please, do not buy this game, it is a scam. The developer is either trying desperately to scam you out of your money, or is just completely oblivious as to how you actually make and release video games. It's not even worth a quick laugh.

EDIT 1: There is no cover system in the game. You crouch behind walls, it's not a system. The stealth mechanics barely exist. There are no special takedowns, there's no decoy options. The description for the game is an overplayed lie.

As of the time of this review, the game is completely broken for me. Pressing the reset button without having finished a puzzle causes a never ending black screen, and pressing it when I've finished a puzzle gives me the poster/ornament, but I can't place it down, meaning I have to restart the game to do anything. Graphical bugs are apparent as well, with the book you can pick up to the left having it's model still appear there until I put it down. Buttons on some of the keypads are off centre in terms of pressing them.

Just buy the original and avoid this.

A quick look at my hours will show that if I've stuck around for this long, that I most definitely recommend this game. It's lego, but with gun parts. With enough patience, you can create quad barrelled miniguns and sniper rifles that fire two shots at once, all while being able to flip over on it's side for easy access to the mag you placed. If you can think of it, you can create it... kind of.
Want those exact examples shown in some videos? Then here you go.
Guns I made in Shotforge Vol. 1
Guns I made in Shotforge Vol. 2
Guns I made in Shotforge Vol. 3

Aesthetically, the game looks great. A low poly blocky look really does help sell the look of a full gun once yo have it built, meaning nothing looks out of place or in the wrong area.

There are plenty of parts to work with, but eventually begin to feel limiting if you play it for the amount of time I have, more on that later.

While building things is fun and easy, where it all begins to break down is when you attempt building something particularly complex. The aforementioned quad barrelled minigun took me around an hour to make, but it might have taken me 30 minutes if I didn't have to keep rebuilding the gun almost from scratch. Your hands are really quite inaccurate, meaning in order to get to the part you want to edit, sometimes you literally have to decompile the gun and single out that part, just so you can finally target it properly. Unless your gun is but a few parts, you'll most likely encounter this problem at some point. It's not a game breaker, but I might honestly say that it's on the verge of being one, causing me to give up on a lot of guns that otherwise might have turned out great.

Edit: It's also worth noting that currently in the game, additional grips on your gun are completely borked. Stick with the trigger grip and just rest your other controller next to it, trust me.

Another problem is just how limited the game is with what you can and can't do. Part of this is simply the result of a lack of parts specifically for what you want to do. Building a double barrel shotgun requires quite the workaround just to get working. Having a gun that shoots more than one barrel at once requires an extra receiver, as you can't select two at once on a single receiver. There's no way to make it so you're required to pull a charging handle to load in a new bullet, as the bolts in the game are strictly for single shot, bolt action style weapons. Traditional pistols with a slide that moves back is also impossible without either looking ridiculous, or being underwhelming. Basically, how an automatic/semi gun works is, the mag comes out, you put a new mag in. Any extra steps is impossible to add onto your guns without being optional and functionally pointless.

While it looks like this game isn't very good now, thanks to the two large paragraphs of complaints, but trust me when I say that it's actually a really good game. At its core, it's an idea that with some refinement and additions, can be something really quite special. Building can be frustrating due to the inaccuracy of the auto-targeting system and you can be somewhat limited on what you can do. I'd heavily urge you give this a spin though, because at the low low cost of nothing at all, it'll at least give you a decent amount of entertainment and satisfaction.

[Story Spoilers Free Review]

A massive departure from what Scott Cawthon previously established with the original FNaF series. A very intriguing, well built and designed game that becomes too hard for it's own good.

The "sit in a room/office/dumpster until 6am" mechanic was thrown out the window for this one, pretty much nullifying any expectations I had for this game. Instead, Sister Location takes a campaign like approach, with each night being a different level, instead of the same night, but harder. While I'm split on the decision to remove the "sit and survive" gameplay for a more linear story approach, I do think it ended up being a nice change of pace, albeit not what I expected, nor wanted.

Most of what I have to say would be good, so I'll list them off instead.
The game looks good and plays good.
Gameplay is incredibly varied, each new level has it's own trick.
The voice acting is superb, setting the tone nicely.
The humour spliced in through the game is well made and got more than enough chuckles from me, and it doesn't ruin the flow of the otherwise dark storyline of the game.

However there is a decent amount wrong with this game, some of which is merely my preference.

Like I said previously, I'm not sure I liked the change from "sit and survive" to "linear campaign" It's an impressive change that works out incredibly in the end, but isn't exactly what I expected. Personal nitpick.

Each level has it's own trick to beating it, until you get to night 4, which gains a difficulty spike unlike any other in the FNaF series yet. I won't mention what happens, but I will most definitely say that it's brutally unfair, and is almost entirely reliant on luck.

Where I think the linear campaign falls short in is the diversity and screentime dedicated to each animatronic. For the most part, all of them are only interacted with once, except for one of them. The characters who I had the most interest in went just as fast as they came. This is where I wished there was some sort of "sit and survive" mode like the previous games, because you aren't "hunted" or "lingered" by these animatronics anymore, they're showpieces that usually only appear once. The "stars of the show" in Sister Location are given about as much screentime as Freddy in the first FNaF game. It leaves them feeling completely devoid of character to me, and that's a big disappointment, personally.

Kind of ironic that a story driven game with full voice acting gives off less character than the original cast of FNAF, who for the most part only laughed and screamed. You may disagree with me, but hey, this is what I think, not what you think.

Should you buy this game? Most certainly. It's a great, original inclusion to a tired out franchise which really did need a fresh coat of paint. Unfortunately that fresh coat of paint brought with it a difficulty spike that may as well have been a punch in the nuts.

As of this recent update, the game runs rubbish for me. Said they balanced the difficulty of the game depending on the amount of players, but with only two the game is near impossible to play for an extended period of time.
