I love this game, it's quite good.

Seriously the action setpieces make the formula feel a bit more fresh and the amount of exploring to be done gives me the old traditional rpg tinglies.

I've been a fan of the series for over 20 years and remeber fumbling through tutorials and japanese installers to play games like A Tear of Vermillion and even Sora No Kiseki before it was Trails in the Sky. I never once dreamed that the series would come as far as it has, going full circle from console exclusive back to it's PC roots, but here we are at yet another impressive Falcom/XSeed PC release.

On a purely technical side, each Trails in the Sky and Ys game to be released on Steam was given love and care. This particular release however has recieved a number of improvements including higher resolutions then it's console counterpart, new shading tech, a turbo mode, 50% more voice acting, improved draw distance, and an improved framerate.

I'd put over 100 hours into the PS3 and Vita releases and I'm absolutely ready to dip back in. If you like world building, clever combat, and an engrossing story I highly reccomend not just Cold Steel but the entire Trails series.
