I've never had more fun playing a hero shooter like this.

Is it balanced? Not really no, but the community can't seem to decide who is the broken one

Are the microtransactions ♥♥♥♥♥♥? Most of them yeah, that Eldritch Armour Magik is like 18 bucks US, but on the other hand, the battlepass is only 5 bucks, comes with 5 skins, and sticks around forever!

The game needs more maps, and like Overwatch, it needs more heroes that aren't DPS, but unlike Overwatch, the game is actually fun, AND NOT MADE BY BLIZZARD YOU CAN'T PASS THAT UP

Only buy if you completely understand that it was released FAR too early, even for an Early Access game!

The artstyle is peak and when the stars align the core gameplay the devs intended comes out, it is something to behold, and while I'm giving it a recommend because I think the devs deserve recognition for their work, the game has a long *long* way to go before I think Forever Winter becomes a proper product.

Just finished the campaign on the Angel of Death difficulty, death count hitting most likely like 40+? (I'm garbage lmao) And while I have my issues with the two AI Space Marines (they're stupid, and it really really shows on Angel of Death), but aside from that, the campaign is amazing, I have no real notes (Though there is one hell of a cocktease in the final level, dunno why we went down to a tombworld if we weren't gonna wake the boys up). The game preforms perfectly, only experienced 1 or 2 bugs where the camera spazzed out after a glory kill, and only 1 or 2 levels felt annoying rather than difficult.

I do think there should be more levels, both for the campaign and the operations mode, plus more maps for 6v6, more weapons, more customisations that feel less ultramarine, and for Throne's sake, less us fully customise our Chaos Space Marines! And let us play Thousand Sons, Emperor's Children and the Word Bearers!

But other than that, solid 9/10

The only real complaints I have are that some of the incantations added feel lacklustre and underwhelming, and the second phase of the final boss isn't something I had a lot of fun with, and the storyline and motivations and characterisation of Miquella feels off from what we all gathered from the base game.

Looking past those 3 and, honestly quite ignorable gripes, the DLC is perfect, FromSoft has raised the bar yet again, when we all thought they already hit the peak

It's a damn shame to say that the beta was better than the current release, but from the slow grind to even unlock a single new character, perks for said character, and battlepass progression, to the absolutely revolting overall monetisation, it's safe to say that during the year or so they had to work on the game prior to the second release, all they did was evolve backwards to produce a game that's downright soul sucking.

I'll change my review when good cosmetics are available for decent prices.

Yeah so, originally I posted this review saying the DLC prices were outrageous, especially for the quality that they were putting out. Thrones of Decay came out and I decided to keep my review as is, who knows if CA was going to continue making good product after all, it could just be a fluke, and the next DLC could be just as bad as Shadows of Change... Well colour me surprised, and consider me proven wrong, what CA has done is what we want all game developers to do, prove the player base that they can do better, prove to the player base that they will do better. I believe in CA. I believe that they have heard us, and I look forward to what they will bring us in the future.
