I did finally get permabanned on the HW forum, which locked my entire account too and forced it into private mode (so you might have unsubbed automatically if you were, idk how that works). I got the steam wide ban overturned because it was obviously nonsense. HW mods/devs can ban for any reason they want, though, so Steam can't overturn the forum ban itself.
