Has potential, but some major issues (but not dissimilar to issues with other basic FPS's).
Too bad too, because a Team-Fortress -meets- Minecraft metaphor is appealing to me

The Good:
* Easy to get started.
* Jump-in.
* Make a character.
* Join a server.
* Join a team.
* Start shooting (if there is anybody there).

The Bad:
* There's almost nobody there to play with.
* The controls / key-bindings are NOT configurable.
* For me this is show-stopper, I'm left-handed and the mandatory / default bindings are un-playable for me.
* So, on the un-configurable key-bindings alone, I can NOT recommend.
* No "dedicated" server capability that I saw (Linux preferred, but not even Windows?)
* No map editing (at least not that I saw).

The good:
* Simple.
* Jump-in.
* Join a server / room.
* Join a team.
* Start shooting (if there's anybody there).
* Might be good for quick LAN-party.

The bad:
* There's nobody there.
* No way to update keybindings!?!?!
* Kept getting stuck by map features (i.e. need some clip brushes to make thing flow easier).
* No dedicated server (for Linux, or anything else).
* No map editor (like all new FPS's, needs a good 3rd party mapping community).

Ok, I am left-handed. So that WASD stuff just doesn't cut it for me. In all other games I play, I bind to other keys (usually the key-pad and navigation/arrows keys). It does not seem like that is even possible with this game?

Consequently, not able to go any further than the first screen. After that, it's ESC and quit. Oh wait, that didn't even work. Had to ALT+TAB away from the game and kill it from Windows!

Early access game, so things might change.

Bad things:

Press ESC does not seem to cancel the pre-game advertisement/logo junk.

Too much junk happens when I just open the game ("Daily Reward" junk, etc.). I just want to get in and start killing people! Stop putting things in my way of doing-that!

The interface seems WAY too busy with options. Just let me pick a server, pick a class and start killing. I'll figure-out the rest later. Doesn't anybody remember how SIMPLE Counter-Strike (1.x, the original) was? Again, I just want to get in and start killing people! Stop putting things in my way of doing-that!

No stand-alone Linux-native-binary dedicated servers (to build your own community, etc.).

Since it's not Source-based, probably will be little or no 3rd-party server-side customizations/mods available for it. Again, not community-friendly.

Perhaps I am just accustomed to Source-based games (TF2, CS:S, etc.), but I found the movement a little wierd. Maybe that is something I would get accustomed to? Nah, probably just move on if it took more than a few minutes to adapt.

Also, just trying to QUIT this game was frustrating! Hit ESC goto go though that over-blown interface and then somehow randomly found the option to quit the game. It just be "Hit ESC or some other player-selected key WHEREVER you are in the game, get asked ONCE to confirm you really want to quit, then DONE!"

The BEST thing about this game?
Scarlett Johansson is not depicted as the Major in it.

Summary:
Hope the game develops further (dedicated server, etc.) will be keeping an eye on it. But for now, eh. I would rather just have Ghost-in-the-Shell-themed mods for a CS:S server at this point.

Haven't played in a long while - just re-discovering now why it was one of my favorite WW-II mods!

Very retro! I remember when this game came-out in the early 1990's as sort-of a sequel to the original Wolfenstein-32!

Ever get the urge, to just whip-out dual six-shooters and blow some people away? FoF is your cure. No rules, no objectives, just jump-in, pick a "side" (or a server where there are no "sides") and start shoot'en!

My favorite LAN-party and killing-time Internet game. Very low system requirements, no fancy graphics card required. I always keep a HL server on the Internet with a few bots on it -so I can play it any time I want.
