Surprisingly fun game - but they definitely need to polish it up a bit and make a couple of QoL improvements. The gameplay cycle is quite fun; open packs, sell cards, get money to buy better packs, build a collection, start selling comics, games, and more - hire staff, expand and improve your store while keeping up on bills. Open another pack and repeat. Over and over again.

While playing it, I realized it felt a lot like my first job at Gamestop when I was a kid. Much like that job, it gave me a shock when I realized how much fun I could have with it. However, much like that job, there are a few things that if fixed would take it from fun to fantastic.

I'd particularly like to see the option to place the tags on warehouse shelves on the lower shelf - I've worked in retail and warehouses for years and bottom tags are standard; this has annoyed me more times than I can count while restocking shelves or buying from the distributor - I order or pull the wrong item because I default to bottom tags. I'd also like to see more customization from the in-game manufacturers on the sides of the boxes, such as splash art or standard labeling, or even the option to add custom labels. Granted, that may be beyond the capacity of their engine, but I also have hope in modders. Mod support already looks pretty solid with the ability to add a lot of user content easily. It's eaten up a bunch of my time and opening a pack to find a $3000 card still gets me psyched. A bit more development and a few QoL improvements, some of which modders may accomplish on their own, and this could be a real banger for people who enjoy the genre.

Right now? Solid 7.75-8.25. Polish it up, and I could see it hitting a 9 in my personal book.

If you enjoy card games and games with quirky, mind-bending stories, do I have a game for you. Equal parts roguelike strategy, classic trading card games, and horror with a heavy dollop of narrative and you've got a incredibly difficult to categorize experience that will leave you incredibly frustrated at times, but coming back for more over and over again.

You will die.

I have hundreds of hours into this game and each in game day is a new, short term adventure, fighting for survival against the wild and the elements.

It's brutal.

It's amazing.

This game has a VERY steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of things, you'll find yourself excited to do all sorts of stuff. It's fantastically fun, smart, challenging, and rewarding with an INCREDIBLE number of mods, and constant development.
