This game is a mess. Absolutely atrocious game design compared to Dead Rising 1. How people enjoy this game in 2025 is beyond me. It was only a product of its time.

Unable to migrate character with 100s of hours. Not making a new character because they wanted to re release this game for the 7th time.

Does not consistently work. Crashes or freezes and disconnects, despite surpassing recommended requirements.

Update, 5/17/25: Game still doesn't work lol. I've tried every "fix" imaginable and even upgraded every single thing in my computer.

The reviews reek of nostalgia glasses.

A solid campaign with a huge skill wall at the end.

You are not equipped to play the end game at any difficulty until you have maxed out every upgrade. In order to get every upgrade, you must beat the campaign 2 more times on heroic and iron mode. These modes limit you from..... well, pretty much playing the game. These challenges limit your tower upgrades and even some towers altogether. This is not fun. Tower defense games are fun when you put a large arsenal in the players hands with deep upgrades. Limiting this makes this a very bland experience.

This is absolutely the weakest VS DLC to date. Over 70% of the weapons added are just..... terrible and unfun. It seems like they wanted to put twin-stick shooter elements into this DLC, but without the twin stick shooter controls. It's $2, so it's whatever. New Content. But this DLC can be skipped.

This game suffers from an extremely slow progression in-hall. You start a game slow and can basically do nothing. Then you level up and get hit with more "nothing-burger" upgrades than ones that are strong and fun. The upgrades are so minimal too that you won't even see a difference until you have hit level 50. I understand the difficulty being the way it is, but every run just starts out and continues to be so boring until the last 5 minutes of the run.

Classic controls doing significantly more damage ruins the competitiveness of this game for people who prefer modern controls. They tried to appeal to new fans, but ended up giving people who have been playing their games for years the advantage, making it not-so newcomer friendly. I will be getting my fighting game itch elsewhere.

A visually stunning rendition of classic, prohibition era storytelling.

Games that make me mad are not good games to me.

The forced exhaustion makes everything so hard. The AI can be so cheese sometimes too.

Increase in difficulty just means that you have to spend 80% of your fights blocking (not fun). Sometimes the AI can even slip through your "defense" and punch straight through you for a knockout. Not to mention that the AI can literally just teleport inside of your player model, making it impossible to hit them, but possible for them to hit you.
