Yeah... Gearbox, you need to sort your ♥♥♥♥ out. Managed to get the chef normally using Seeker... then the game decided to bug out, and infinitely stack that weird ass coin, not allowing me to use any skills, and for fireworks to constantly fire away. It was the only way I could even damage enemies, and let me beat that sodding false son or whatever that ♥♥♥♥'s name is.

Until they... I wouldn't say hotfix, I'd say full on hotupdate this dlc, don't buy it. Once it's all fixed, I'll change my review and give a proper review, but for now, avoid buying this, stick with the previous dlc.

I can sum this up as... odd. Very odd. Good, but odd.

Best part? The songs. Lorna Shore and Lacuna Coil. Two great bands' singers jumping in on the fun wagon that is Metal: Hellsinger.

Worst part? Cosmetics. None of them really spoke out to me. It'd make sense if it was a multiplayer game, but it isn't. And who's idea was it to put Unknown in a wooly jumper, stockings and angel wings? (Sidenote: If I could, I'd run the Angel Eyes cosmetics but only if I could keep the original costume's effect.)

Odd bit? The weapon. Whilst fun in it's own right... I don't get it's ultimate ability, and the fact that it fires in a way similar to how the Falx operates really puts you off your rhythm. Nice attempt, but iffy execution.

Overall? 7/10. Only get it if you want to listen to the new music.

PS: Let us get the music as a standalone thing, I want to be able to listen to Dissolution or No Tomorrow in different games.

Fluid gameplay, goofy at times, serious in others, which it takes in stride with RGG's other series Yakuza, great choice in music at the start, and even if you dislike it, play through it with the English VA on, you won't regret it, and I may be a bit biased here because Matthew Mercer's in it (lol Critical Role), but the rest of the voice acting's top notch too.

It's just fun, through and through, and every part of the main story intertwines and folds in with itself, making it compelling and grips you from start to finish, which is a rarity nowadays with some games, let's be real here.

Hats off to you guys at RGG, you beautiful bastards!

Is it perfect? Not by a long shot. Is it fun? Hell yeah it is, and this is keeping in mind that it's been made by FOUR PEOPLE. Yeah, you read that right, four.

Sure, the physics are a little janky here and there, but this is very much a love letter to other racing games before this one, yet it keeps it's own identity despite it.

And by other racing games;
Flatout ((Heavy part of the love letter) The game styling is very Flatout-esque, specifically 1 and 2.)
Split/Second (Destructive elements in the world can cause some tracks physics to change, which is pretty dang cool.)
NFS: Most Wanted (The PS2/XBox version)(The blacklist "system" is here and it's fairly cool, with some fairly tongue in cheek characters like Big Cheese, whose essentially Big Smoke from GTA: SA.)
Burnout (3: Takedown) (The medal system gives a little incentive to retry the maps with better vehicles.)

Once again, is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Yes.

Despite the negative press people give this game, I still heavily enjoy it. Been playing since closed beta, and before it was even on Steam, and although I only really play the ARAM mode, and although the servers have been a little bit patchy, I still find great fun in the game.

That being said, sometimes it's a thinking game... and not a lot of people on there do that (including myself sometimes, but I always apologise for mucking up in the game). And people don't understand that there're other people on the other side of the screen wanting to have some fun.

Just be kind to each other, people. I get fed up of trying to diffuse fights in the chat, which can be said for a lot of the multiplayer games I play. It doesn't hurt to be kind, and if it does, then you need some help... or you've been stabbed. Then you really need help.

I digress, SMITE's some good fun.

I'd recommend this game with the caveat that it's not entirely perfect. It's a spin off to Saint's Row 4, which also means that it's short as... well, short as hell, the weapons are highly unbalanced, I mean, Death's Gallows has the voice of Matthew Mercer, explosive rounds AND a rapid fire infinite ammo mode after hitting a certain amount of shots... kind of makes fights trivial in the long run. And the lack of licensed music is a drag, despite hearing some music in cars that drive past you, then go silent once you steal it.

But, saying this... the voice acting in this is pretty much A*, Matthew Mercer, Liam O'Brien, and Travis Willingham from Critical Role all voice characters (and gun in Matt Mercer's case) in this spin off, which is an enormous amount of vocal starpower, even though they talk about tormenting poor Trinket the Bear.

The flight system works surprisingly well, once you've upgraded it, and if you want a laugh, drive in a Rambulance. Yeah, you read that right, a Rambulance. Drive face first into pedestrians (or Husks as they're called in this), and get rewards for it.

Like I said, I recommend as long as you don't mind the negatives. I'd suggest getting it on sale like I did.

Early Access Review
It's fun, but it's very quick to complete. It is in early access though, so I imagine that there'll be more to be added to the game itself. Will say, good job on the tracks, though it does tend to bug out every now and again with that.

Though this is the first game I can reliably say that I semi-recreated Mammoth from Battlebots.

This is genuinely an interesting game, being tasked to pull apart ships, and sorting things out here and there, making sure you don't blow yourself up, and it feels like if you mess up, there's no huge ramifications, but boy does it stings knowing you goofed up by accidentally blowing up the backside of the ship.

Now if this had multiplayer, boy oh boy, this'll be more amazing than it is right now.

Just as a precursor, I decided to just play through the story mode, get a couple of cars that I enjoyed driving in other games, including the NFS series, but I haven't gotten any further than finishing the story mode, mainly because the collectables give you rewards that're... a little lackluster.

Also there's a fix for this game out there that allows you to play this game without melting your entire PC, so go look that up on google, something called the cpu90_fix, so just google "NFS Heat cpu90 fix" or something along those lines. It helped me out on the stuttering framerates.

Right, to my review. And I'll try to keep it short and sweet, but no promises.

It's fun, don't get me wrong, it's a hell of a load of fun, but there're parts that can very easily dissuade people from playing. The graphics are stellar, even on my NVidia 980ti that's a few years old now, this game can run really smoothly at times. The tracks are varied in both good and bad ways, though you will find yourself playing some over and over to rack up some money, but there're guides out there that'll help you with grinding that out.
The variety of cars are very much callbacks to popular vehicles in previous NFS games, such as your Acura's and your Lambo's, and your Porsche and Aston Martin's, but you'll have to scroll through AAAAALL of them to get to the vehicle you want to buy, and you'll end up unlocking all of them late in the story so you'll barely get the ability to drive some of them for long enough time unless you grind the money and the reputation.

I'm just gonna list the pros and cons here now, so...

PROS:
+ Fun Story Line
+ Wide-ish Variety of Cars
+ Very Large Map
+ Customisation of cars
+ Track Design
+ Some of the Paint and Wraps from the community are very creative, and you can edit them if you don't want a particular bit of decal on it.

CONS:
- Characters in the storyline are EXTREMELY one dimensional bar two of them
- Drifting is a pain in the rear to try and do properly
- Cops can only really be lost from big jumps, otherwise they'll stomp you into the ground early through mid game, I just wish it was more of a NFS MW 2005 era style cop system where you can use chasebreakers, and not worry about taking too much damage to your vehicle.
- Music is not to everyone's taste (I'm very much rock and roll/metal guy so this is a sizeable one for me)
- No fine tuning of gearing, you just get a set of gears and be done with it
- You only get introduced to certain race types then they just kind of take a backseat for the street racing. Not a bad thing but going from Payback to this is a little... underwhelming.

I would put this one under negative but it can be a good thing if you're more of a completionist, you can also do all the collectable stuff to get some unique vehicles, but they're very underwhelming, so take that into mind.

Would I recommend this? Yes (wish there was a neutral option), but take it with a grain of salt, buy it whilst it's on sale, but just be aware of everything I've mentioned. Just don't buy it full price, it's very much not worth that.

An absolutely fantastic game, very colourful, clean, the fights are satisfying, even if it is a little bit grindy, but that's to be expected when you're stuck in a time loop.

The story's really well written as well, along with a few branching side pieces that open up pieces of the lore, and the mystery of the disappearance of the world's only Godless-Priestess.

Along with this, you get to fight along four other beings in this world of Urralia (which I was enthralled with), all with their own motives, and little character nuances to go along with it as well.

There is one gripe I have with the game, but that'd end up with me spoiling the game itself, which I don't particularly want to do.

Would I recommend it? Yes. Absolutely. Great story, good combat, nice little bits of platforming. Despite my gripe, I can't praise it enough really. A nice hidden gem.
