I should preface this by saying that as of time of writing i have not yet beaten the game.

I have also played this game the way the architect™ intended: on supernova™. As such some of my complaints may not apply to the easier modes and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Overall The Outer Worlds™ is a above average action RPG, but theres vast differences in the quality of the various aspects that the game is composed of.

I am going to start off by saying that i find the combat was a repetitive chore, with all enemies being bulletsponges that were capable of quickly melting through even the best of my armour and my companions' flesh before they would even be so kind as to aknowledge the 5 rounds to forehead they had just endured. But as i assume those problems only apply to supernova™ i don't really hold it against the game.

The story on the other hand is exceptional. While the political undertones are about as subtle as a freight train, it works in the setting to make it feel more like a realistic scenario rather than a propaganda piece. Most characters feel decently fleshed out, and the world building in general is superb. As a matter of fact, i still can't get the Auntie Cleo's™ Better than Nature™ jingle out of my brain, and feel oddly compelled to add ™ to the end of certain words like supernova™ or architect™.

All in all, it's not the best game, but its a SPACER'S GAM- a decent game that is worth getting if its on sale.
