If there was a mixed review option, I would give it.

Watch Dogs, a game that promised so much with its intriguing concept, ends up being a classic case of wasted potential. The idea of a high-tech open-world game where you play as a hacker with the power to manipulate an entire city sounded amazing on paper, but the execution left much to be desired.

First and foremost, the game's story line, which had the potential to be a gripping cyber-thriller, fell flat. The protagonist, Aiden Pearce, is a forgettable and unlikable character whose motivations and actions often make little sense. The narrative is convoluted and fails to engage the player in a meaningful way. It's a shame, as a well-crafted story could have been the driving force behind this game.

One of the biggest issues noted by the community is the game's graphics. When Watch Dogs was initially showcased at E3, it looked stunning. However, the final product was a far cry from those early promises. The graphics downgrade was so significant that it felt like a bait-and-switch. The textures are often muddy, character models lack detail, and the city of Chicago, which is supposed to be a vibrant and living entity, feels lifeless.

Another major letdown was the hacking mechanics, which were supposed to be the core of the game. While the concept of being able to manipulate the city's infrastructure and access information on NPCs sounded revolutionary, in practice, it was underwhelming. Hacking often boiled down to pressing a button to raise a road barrier or cause a blackout, and the potential for creative hacking solutions felt squandered.

Furthermore, the driving mechanics in Watch Dogs left a lot to be desired. The controls were clunky, and the physics felt unrealistic. Navigating the city was a chore, and it took away from the overall experience.

The multiplayer aspect, which was intended to be a unique selling point, suffered from numerous issues, including connectivity problems and a lack of engaging content.

In the end, Watch Dogs had all the ingredients for a groundbreaking game but failed to deliver on its promises. While it's not entirely devoid of fun moments, the overall experience is marred by its lackluster execution, disappointing graphics, and uninspiring storytelling. If there was a mixed review option, I would give it.

Definitely a game to play. I really enjoyed the story and the level design/art that I played through. Ending definitely got me teary-eyed. I miss you Bill and I love you <3
