There is soooo much wrong with this game and its' developer that I just can't be bothered spending the next 2 hours writing up a complete and comprehensive review.
The game effectively has 1 mode; Immortal Empires; because the other modes are beyond terrible and explaining the "what" I mean by that; would take an hour of itself.

The developers; do not care about this product. Nor any of their other products. They have, are, and will continue to; release deliberately unfinished content; with a Paid-for DLC with the remainder of that content; but inside that DLC; is introducing further issues; only a future-DLC can amend; all by design.

CA are perfectly capable of greatness; that's the issue. We know they can; because they did it with Rome 2; that they can salvage a huge colossal fk up with dedication and perseverance and actually listening to the community. They are capable.

So; when they aren't addressing any of the issues that truly matter; it's not because they can't, it is because they don't want to.

Warhammer 3 is the third-installment of Total War: DLC

And I'm a big fan of the idea of DLC; just not so much in how many choose to execute that idea.
And when the company decides to double or triple the cost of the DLC (depending on your region) for no actual reason; just hiding behind dismissive and garbage fabrications of a multi-billion dollar company having to increase wages to cover the cost of living expenses, when; their own stock-reports showcase unprecedented and; frankly; gargantuan profits, yeah; convincing lies after more and more lies.

The gameplay; is; divisive. Has a lot of positive and a lot of negative things. Far too nuanced to give an objective review; but; many do enjoy it; however only the more recent adopters and newcomers to the franchise have been the ones to enjoy it. The legacy players are not enjoying it; as the game has become more, novelty and spectacle at the expense of authentic and realistic. Up to you to know what you want.

The developers and community managers, have collectively applied a Scorched Earth approach within their customer base.
Abusive, condescending, manipulative, oppressive and my persona;l favourite, tone deaf.

They recently burned almost their entire community with a series of blind-fire bans, banning modders from modding, banning people from just conversing in the forums, copyright striking Youtube videos that address their failures as a company.

And then, damage control stepped-in, started back-pedalling faster than an Olympic Cyclist; and then; and then; still doubled-down on their actions; though expressed insincere apologies that we; the community have issues with how they acted.

You do not have the right to discuss. It is a Privilege.

Act 1 is a masterclass; the time in early-access definitely showed; and critically succeeded.
Act 2 is; truly ambitious; and succeeds on replayability to a ridiculous level. Like damn.

With Act 1 and Act 2 in consideration; You can quite easily sink more than a few playthroughs doing quite far and further reaching distinct paths; and still be surprised by what you see, do and hear. Each class; each race; some/most subclasses even. The branching story from 1 decision to another to another is remarkable. Unless you keep making the same; or similar choices; your story is going to differ extensively.
Act 1 and Act 2 are easily not-Game-of-the-Year content; but arguably game-of-all-time content.

Act 3, is a colossal disaster (by comparison)

Act 3, is still better; in all aspects; story, gameplay, roleplay, questing, writing, etc etc etc, still better than many; if not most other AAA or so RPG games on the market or even the classics.

Act 3 is still among the best content in RPGs.

But; Act 3 is unbearably unparalleled in overwhelming.

Ever heard the phrase "too much"?
The notion of take a giant step back comes to mind.
The Act is too vast; with far too many pieces. It needs; truly needs to have been playtested like Act 1 was.

Act 3 is exhausting. Act 3 is more content-rich than Act 1 and Act 2 combined several times over. (probably)

You cannot walk more than a few steps without stumbling into a multi-hour quest line. And on the way to maybe do that new quest; you've also now picked-up another 80-multi-hour quests.

That being said; the game has flaws; or features; depending on your perspective.

The game allows the player all the freedom to railroad their own campaign and break triggers for quests by out-of-sequencing events because of freedom. Which then; skips out on huge amounts of content; like. Huge.

Example, spoiler.
If you engage Ketheric / Z'rell during the first encounter, it will automatically put you on the path against the Absolute, forcing you to take that path; but also auto-picks outcomes with Belthazar; still fine; but; due to a script issue? When you would usually make a decision to free the Nightsong, or destroy it for Shadowheart; or whatever you'd normally get given the option to. The interaction bugs; Shadowheart is there but a non-contributing member; you're forced to free the Nightsong; and then Shadowheart throws a tantrum about denying her the opportunity and she leaves the party permenantly from this point.
An entire multi, multi, multi-hour experience railroaded because of what i can only assume scripting issues and sequence breaks due to player freedom. Is player freedom a good thing? Well. It has its drawbacks.

Multiplayer is exceptionally well-done. You aren't distance locked to other players, as long as everyone is within the same map itself. The only issue is something likely to be fixed maybe. And that's:

It is not drop-in drop-out. If your friend joins you, because the game defaults to allows everyone to join without invite; they will be forced to make a new character for your playthrough. Then; it'll remove an AI companion from your squad to make room for them. blah blah blah, but; once they leave; their character is forever in your squad.
You cannot dismiss them, you cannot replace them. (you can use and control them), and even deiliberately killing them does not remove them from the group.

Intentional-full-coop playthroughs are amazing; casual, drop-in, drop-out, is game-breaking.

I've come into this game from a long, long history of a fanatically abusive love for KotOR, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and you get the point; Character-companion singleplayer-RPG epics are my childhood, and my man-childhood. KotOR 1 lives in my heart as the best; but this game BG3, undoubtedly dethrones that in spectacular fashion.

The characters are superbly written and acted. The world is intricately woven and brought to life. The complexity of DND 5E has been faithfully brought to life, admittedly with a level 12 handicap (level7 spells would be a gargantuan undertaking to implement) This game is just a love letter to fans and gamers alike; made by those who are also fans and gamers alike; with a burning passion for their craft and enjoyment of it.

I cherished KotOR for the last 20 years.
I cherished Neverwinter Nights for the last 21 years.
Mass effect for the last 16 years,
Dragon Age for the last 14 years.

I fully intend to cherish this game as faithfully as i've cherished those that came before.

I cannot give this game a 100/100 for what i stated before.
But, I will give this game a 97/100

For the entirety i played this game. Both on Xbox360 and PC, I strongly suggest all fans of Tolkien's great epic pick this up. It offers one of the best "Assassins Creed-like-Batman Arkham" game types and combines in in ficken MORDOR.
Also the story is compelling and believable. And the voice actor is Troy Baker, what's not to love?

Easily one of the best Real-time strategy games to ever be created, amazing graphic detail especially for a game of this age.
Brilliant everything, no exceptions.

The best Total War out of the 10 in the series.
Biased in this being my favorite time period.
But the engine, soundtrack, style and Voice acting are top-tier

A big Total War fan, Playing Rome: TW back in 2004 when i was 9 was great. Truly felt like I was completely out of my depth. A Great soundtrack, cool art style and impressive graphics.
Five-Total War's later and, as much as i enjoyed this game; I feel as though it's a step backwards from the benchmark that Rome: TW raised.
Would still recommend though. 7/10

The story in this game is great and the open-world feature is amazing.
Good amount of side quests that reset every 8-11 minutes from the Vendor Roshan who lives in some pit.
The world is filled with interesting creatures, and heroes!
Sadly I wish this game offered some sort of multiplayer mode, The Campaign is great but just need something to do now.

KotOR, man, kotor.

This game was the benchmark for what it means to be a contender in the conversation for Best game and best RPG of all time.

But what does a statement like that even mean?

Kotor was released in 2003, but I didn't play it till much later until 2007.
I spent; my childhood playing this, Neverwinter Nights, Halo, and some others lost to memory.

KotOR, is just; that first girlfriend you had; didn't know what you were doing; didn't know where it was going; what was possible; and how you even got here. But you're here now and well; you want more.

Others came along and they all had their flare, their charm, their features, but man. That first girlfriend was the first time you rolled a NAT20 and it doesn't matter now. But for all kotors problems, all its shortcomings; its still kotor. Its the game, the girlfriend that got away. That long lost love.

Yeah; haven't really talked about the gameplay or story at all. Do i need to?
The game has a reputation for a reason. I don't need to speak for it.
All im doing here is sharing one boy's childhood crush that he's still struggling to get over and move past.
