The first game I'm going to halfway coherently write a review for, and it deserves nothing less.
RoR2 is absolutely a step forward without sacrificing the identity of what made Risk of Rain so good in the first place. The 3d game style may make some wary, but it's nothing to be concerned with, the game and familiar characters still feel very much in tune with the identity the first game established. I've had more fun playing solo and just enjoying my time in this, than I have playing RoR with the best of friends. I hope this sees a console release, it already feels like a more complete game than its predecessor. I can't wait to see what the full release looks like, and if anybody who enjoyed the first is still on the fence, do yourself a favor. I don't regret paying full price, but if you're reading this because the game goes on sale, grab it.
