One of the better fps rogue-likes but has very limited replayability. It doesn't take long to discover most of the combos and synergies in the game and once you've finished all the levels it gets really boring and repetetive since there's no randomly generated maps, every room has the exact same layout and enemy spawn locations barely change at all.

In short, the game feels more like a story game with rogue-like elements baked into it. It has decent and smooth gameplay but it gets boring pretty fast after you've played through the exact same maps for the hundredth time.

The most based game release in the last 5 years. Imagine giving your fans what they want and they actually buy your products and praise you for a job well done. Crazy how that works huh?

Sons of the forest is one of the better survival crafting games to ever be released. It looks good, runs smooth and whoever designed the map and nature has nailed it. The survival aspect of the game is pretty streamlined and never gets too easy or too obnoxious. Also the AI of the characters and enemies in SOTF is pretty impressive and more often than not functions as you'd expect.

It also has one of the best yet fairly simple base building mechanics I've ever seen in any game and it's incredibly satisfying to build and design bases to then later defend it against all the cannibals and monsters.

The only downside of this game is the story. The cut-scenes don't really make much of an impact except the last ones and you're barely introduced to characters before they just show up later as if you'd known them for years and it just feels awkwardly rushed and unfinished.

Everything except the story is great and it definitely feels like a product worth the full pricetag. I'm really hoping for a sequel and they already have a great game engine ready for that.

Edit: I forgot to mention what a banger soundtrack this game has. They made a whole ass band and album with really nice songs just for this game.

The best ocean and underwater survival game ever made and no other game has come close for years. The game is incredibly smooth and satisfying, controls and menus are simplified for quick game play and the story is quite simple and can be completed fairly quickly, but if you take your time with this game you'll find yourself enjoying it more and more. Subnautica makes me happy that I got a diving licence.

Videogame companies are no longer competing in who can make the best products and games.

Now they are competing with how many horrendous and dirty marketing tricks and legal loopholes they can abuse their costumers with.

They somehow added more glitches and game breaking bugs to the game than what was present from launch in their latest ''patch'' as well as nerfed the only viable weapons capable of dealing with some of the most stupid and unbalanced enemies. Also they backpedalled on their promise not to nerf any weapons and gear but to instead buff the under-performing items.

Devs already fumbling.

Edit: I thought the devs couldn't fumble any harder but now they blocked potentially millions of players from playing the game even if they purchased it because of this stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ psn change. Do videogame companies have shame anymore?

Darkest dungeon 2 is undoubtedly a cool sequel and the step from simple and kinda goofy 2d characters models into badass 3d character models is amazing and I think the art style and look of the game has been massively improved. The game itself is debatably neutered and watered down for better and for worse from the original with its streamlined combat and lack of any sort of progression outside of the very limited altar of hope and 5 boss story missions.

Instead of building up a village and progressing the main story mission like in the original you have ''runs'' where you start fresh with a party and when you kill the boss of that story all of your stats and loot is deleted because now the village has become the lobby area.

You now upgrade everything using candles which you collect during said runs, however it doesn't take many runs at all to max out the village upgrades and item unlocks and there's pretty much nothing else to do in the game besides play the same 5 story missions and upgrade specific characters very slightly after you've completed the altar of hope.

I really wish there where more dlcs and content released and I feel like there's an incredibly high potential for this game where they easily could make a different game mode like they did with butchers circus where you would play the game in a combined carriage driving with road battles found in darkest dungeon 2 mixed with the classic dungeon exploring in darkest dungeon 1 but with way more content and story missions added.

Team Fortress 2 killed this game 2 times and they didn't even try. Where did Blizzard go so wrong.

Early Access Review
This game doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ and is pretty much 20 different games at the same time. It has so many absurd things going for it which you wouldn't ever find in any other game. It has Human trafficking, cannibalism, slavery, cute animals with guns and gross negligence to name a few. Happy to see it go well for games that try new things.
