it lost a tremendous amount of soul, is janky, and is a DEI slop game. but its actually better designed than kf2. you have to move around the map. you will be overrun and have to retreat and make use of whats available to you. you cant just hole up in a corridor and spam a single doorway.

you will travel to one of a hundred generic, lifeless, interchangeable planets. you will fight hundreds of generic, personality-less bugs. your skills wont be tested, but your patience will be. there is no skill mastery curve, you just grind until you have the best passives, weapons, and stratagems. Despite the game being 40 dollars, your best move is to pay an additional 10-20 dollars for battlepasses with much stronger weapons than the starter weapons (fanboys will defend this)

i could go on, but i've already put more effort into this post than the devs put into making the game fun or rewarding. if you want mindless bug killing fun, play starship troopers or DRG. if you want a game that will challenge you and push you to master it, play darktide or KF2.

GOTY and its not even close. Challenge yourself on the hardest difficulty you can muster, and choose the option to speed up combat animations. Play with headphones. You can download the OST on the Rogue Trader website. Highly cerebral game with very unique momentum based combat. Baldurs-Babies be warned: This game involves reading.
