A relic of the ps3/360 era of games, definitely worth experiencing.

If you played it on consoles, the initial 50 bucks price tag is too much, I recommend waiting for a sale.
If you haven't played it before, definitely owe it to yourself to play it, especially if you played RDR2.

Fantastic retelling of a classic with enough modern elements to make it fresh, even for veteran players.
Separate Ways is a longer and deeper version of Ada's story that is worth experiencing.
The Mercenaries is very addictive with nice variety of maps, boss enemies and playable characters.

Denuvo is cancer and might affect the performance a little bit, i'll remove this line once that is removed from the game.

Looks like the priority was to preserve these games in their original states, not update them. So while the original ran at 320x240 resolution, this is just a bootleg emulator that "upscales" it to 1080p with huge performance issues.
The GOG version is arguably a better way to experience this and there are countless community fixes that increase the resolution, improve the texture filtering and add a widescreen support.

Until this version gets those settings (or any settings for that matter) I'd avoid it.

There have been some improvements to this version, alongside MGSM2Fix which allows actual internal resolution and a couple of other things, Metal Gear Solid - Master Collection Version is actually in a playable state.

I never thought I'd see the day.

Oh and the game itself is pretty good.

Snake Eater is one of my favorite games of all time, I just wanted to play it on higher resolution than 720p.
They advertised native 1080p for these games, that is not the case. The bootleg launcher is in 1080p, the actual game is 1280x720.

EDIT 1: Patch 2.0.0 introduced resolution scaling, still not allowing you to chose a specific one, it syncs to your monitor's. So I do recommend MGSHDFix after all.

The best way to get around the resolution is with MGSHDFix[github.com]. It offers a heap of other options as well.

Another problem I ran into is the horribly mixed audio. Some voices, SFX, cutscenes, even the iconic song intro sound very bass-boosted. If you're playing this for the first time, don't.

Will change the review once they officially update the games.

According to pcgamingwiki, native support for controllers was removed with v1.5.0 and now requires Steam Input, which I could not get working.

So no, I will not update the review to positive, this release is by far the worst way to play Snake Eater right behind shoving your head in the Pachinko Machine.

A great story set (mostly) in a new district that somehow looks more run down than Pacifica. Fantastic new characters, new side quests and new more complicated gigs.

I can't stress enough how well written and expanded the new gigs are, something I used to do to pass the time in the main game are now long mini-stories with morally questionable choices and consequences, not necessarily to you but to the world around you and the characters involved.

Played it with Game Pass but nothing beats the steam experience.

Any game that has a reference to Saturn Devouring his Son by Francisco Goya deserves some sort of award.
Amazing gameplay, fantastic characters and a very charming story managed to put this as my GOTY.

While the story panders to a Marvel Superfan, if you're not one you'll have trouble relating to the main character. The post-story episodes are interesting enough but they don't really get a proper conclusion.
The gameplay is the most generic looter grindathon with gearscore, healthspongy enemies and floating damage numbers. With the potential to have iconic villains for every character, it has like 3 total. The rest of the combat is fighting robots that don't feel like they're being hit.
While I'm glad this game got the reception it deserved, I was hoping it would be a good example on what not to do for games like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad, unfortunately, that is not the case.

Avoid playing this, watch a playthrough on youtube instead. Maybe then developers will stop putting unnecessary garbage gear systems in games that don't need them.
