It is my belief that ARK: Survival Evolved as an amazing, open world experience that is a must-have for this year's holiday~! I've been playing a long time. I did have my breaks from the game due to school, playing LoL, or Diablo III seasons, but I always kept in touch with the patch notes and how the game as developed in the years leading up to now. Playing with friends, or making new ones with tribes is a great feeling of teamwork and cooperation, and the PvP between tribes feels very intense in combat. I recommend this game to anyone with a high-end laptop or mid-level desktop for the best experience.

As for gameplay, it does have a steep learning curve after you're upgrading from stone and metal building and tools, and does take some learning, and certainly a lot of grinding to reach end-game. The early game of spawning in can feel a bit slow, or even frustrating if you're inexperienced, but the game definetly picks up around level 40-50 in terms of what you can do, tame, and acomplish in the game itself. If you're not on a PvP server, late game can feel pretty boring and pointless when you've tamed everything, built everything, and basically have a prehistoric monopoly, so I recommend playing on a PvP, or at least a PvPvE.

As for tribes, there are a good amount of politics involved with managing, joining, or creating tribes, espically high-level and/or active and populated tribes. Raiding can be fun depending on how the server feels about it or if it's an official server or not, but you don't need to rape and pillage to have a good time, although it does help!

A few tips I would have that aren't really based off of gameplay, are joining an official server when it's freshly wiped, so you don't run into level 80+ players when you're just spawned in. Also, being an overall alturistic person in the game, when in a position of immence power, or a pesent really helps if you get into some heat with other tribes or specific members.

Lastly, I have very fond memories of this game, and I'm hoping of making new ones every day. It's an active game with a good amount of updates and attention from devs, so it's my opinion that getting into this game would be great for the longhaul. And if you need help with game mechanics or are stuck, either ask someone in the server, fourms, or there are plenty of YouTube guides on where to build bases, what dinos to tame, being efficiant in mining, etc. Thanks for reading my review and feel free to add me if you need somone to play with!
