GET THE WIND LVL 6 TALENT.... OH LORD. IT'S GOOD. It brings SO MUCH play potential

This game is AMAZING. Like, seriously.

If you've ever played Gigantic, or Borderlands, or even Paragon, and want something that kinda fills the void of cartoon-graphics, smooth gameplay and balanced combat, this is a really welcoming game. The combos you can make are seemingly endless, it's like a cluster-♥♥♥♥ game of rock-paper-scissors but actually fun.

Honestly, I don't know if I have any gripes with it yet, besides the lack of content, but that's expected from a game that's been out as long as this has. That'll come with time, and that's good. Occasionally, there're lag spikes which will get you killed, as in, I froze mid-combat then got stuck on the spot and was easy pickings during the 9v9 gamemode, but that's only happened once in my entire time playing so far (8 or so hours).

TL;DR:
I'm really enjoying it, somehow it feels like a mix of Paragon and Battlerite.

- You don't have the typical MOBA creep farming, hence why it feels like Battleborn.
- You have a similar, fluid targetting system to Paragon.
- It's not nearly as overwhelming as other MOBAs. Little-to-no punishment compared to other games like Dota.

A few negatives to begin:
!!! There are some REALLY buggy mechanics. I mean, frustratingly ♥♥♥♥ mechanics. For example, playing Wu and using his second jump to escape can sometimes result in you spinning/jumping into an invisible wall. It's actually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and is the most annoying thing, hence why I don't play many of the melee classes.
- The artstyle can be distracting while in chaotic team fights. For example, if you play a Summoner, you might find it hard to keep track of your summoned 'pets' as well as your ability cooldowns and what's happening in front of you.
- Dodging mechanic - I honestly feel it's needless. I find that dodging is more problematic than just running away to be honest. I haven't found any situations yet where I can say "Wow, that dodge saved my life". Instead, I can honestly say "The ♥♥♥♥? Where'd my stamina go?" since I realise I accidentally dodged and lost a quarter of the stamina i could have used to run & jump out of a sticky situation. (I realized 5 minutes after posting that you can change the keybinding for dodging in the options menu - didn't see it before)
- It's VERY chaotic for your first few games. As for advice, I'd say stick to a hero that fits your playstyle: if you like shooting people and dealing damage, pick a shooter and stick to that choice for a while to learn the mechanics of the game.
- The practise mode is a good idea, it helped me to decide early on which role I'd prefer to stick with. Very helpful for new and experienced players.
- Lastly, I feel that summoners are extremely underpowered when compared to other roles like assassins. Let's take Griselma (summoner) and Tripp (assassin) as our examples. Griselma's damage output - as a RANGED character - is dire compared with even a support's damage output (like Vadasi). Over 5 seconds, I've found that with Griselma, I am dealing about 300-400 damage. Let's take the situation where my summoned 'pets' (or hands) have been killed, which actually puts your RMB skill on cooldown and thus unusable and limiting your damage. Compare this with Tripp - being in combat for 5 seconds, you'd have killed your target and already escaped behind your team. That's kinda insane considering Griselma is meant to be a damage dealing summoner. Yes, you can build for utility - buffing teammates and zoning the enemy - but once your hands are dead, you're worthless, might as well be a meatshield for your support. *BUT THIS WILL PROBABLY CHANGE IN A FEW BALANCING PATCHES TO COME (hopefully)*

The positives:
+ Unique graphics. Very nice to jump in and have this TF2 nostalgic feel. I'm personally a fan of this artstyle since it's cartoonish and reminds me of that.
+ Overall balancing is acceptable this early on. My first 'expensive' hero was Vadasi, and honestly her playstyle is so different from most other heroes that I had to 'main' her for several hours before I could comfortably find two builds that work. You'll also find that a hero that comes under a certain role, like Vadasi being a 'healer', can actually be more flexible. You can build damage for Vadasi, heal on the side and mostly focus on your damage output which actually benefits your team moreso in certain situations.
+ Map design. It's actually quite well-made. How the map changes in the 'Clash' stage brings more variety to the map design; there might only be 3 or so maps available, but the fact that some literally change in the second half of a match makes it feel like two maps in one. Very nice to have this.
+ I feel like the Ultimate pack is actually quite a good deal. £24 to unlock all heroes (and future ones, which is good), 10 level boosters (which is decent) and a friend code that gives them all these benefits. That friend code makes this pack basically worth it. Quite a good deal to be honest.

-> Comapring the size of my negatives to the size of my positives, you'll probably wonder why I'm recommending it. It's not for everyone, same can be said about most games with cartoon graphics and an emphasis on skill-based PvP. The third-person might not even be for everyone either. It's enjoyable to win and lose, which for me is what wins me over in any MOBA. That's how I get better, if I lose but enjoy it in solo queue, I'm gonna play again and get better over time. What makes it enjoyable is all the variety from the hero builds to the map changes in the 'Clash' phase and all the parkour you can begin to deploy in-game.

-> From a PC gamer's perspective, I feel like it needs a ranked system, or a competitive scene since the overall feel of the game so far is nowhere near as punishing as other MOBAs like Dota. The Devs HAVE SAID that they'd focus on the competitive scene if the community wants it, which shows the Devs are listening to the community - very good for a MOBA (and any game...).

-> I must also say that the Arc Client isn't very good. However, I don't feel this should detract much from the game's potential.

It's free, you might as well give it a go.

TL;DR: It's another crap/overpriced anime game.

Let me explain...

In short, I held my left mouse button and did nothing else. The mouse and keyboard control is very clunky and the in-game tutorial is meant for consoles. Just like every other game where the tutorial doesn't even have the keyboard controls, it's not meant for PC gamers. Leave it to the console gamers - again.

Currently, it's retailing at £40 - Triple A retail price. For that, you would at least expect satisfying mouse and keyboard support. Currently, it feels awkward to use; given the combat style auto-targetting anything in your field of view, you can play with just a mouse. I would also expect more depth in the combat for its price, but I found that holding left mouse button after walking up to a mob is all you need to do...

The narrator's voice is a child... Sounds as though he's about 8. That's the most annoying type of voice to hear on the internet, let alone from a game I just spent £40 on.

I'm an average gamer - I'm giving my very first impressions of the game. I usually don't do reviews, but I felt that this was the worst ten minutes spent playing a game retailing at full Triple A price. Honestly: I had more fun in the first hour of No Man's Sky.

It's fair to say "You don't have enough time spent in this game to review it. This is invalid." You need to understand I'm giving my first impressions - if I felt the game was so bad I would rather not spend more than 10-15 minutes playing, along with reasons why, that implies something...

To clarify, in terms of gameplay mechanics, you needn't use a keyboard, just a mouse. It auto-targets for you (or close to that, since I only needed to readjust my mouse so I aimed relatively close to the enemy) in order to hit them. And then it auto-targets the next enemy in your field of view. When I summarise the game as being 'repetitive'*, I am basing it off of this mechanic alone. It kills the quality of the combat for me.

[The reason for me buying this was because I remember sinking hundreds of hours into DQ: Rocket Slime on my DS as a kid; I felt that my love for RPGs was a good combo to try and get that nostalgic feel mixed with gaming elements I loved, so I gave the JRPG genre a try.]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This will get downvoted by the biased, hardcore anime community. I don't care, I'm being honest from a typical gamer's perspective. The purpose was to show my first impressions of the game as I felt this was the most important part and the quick decider as to whether I should play or not. I wouldn't recommend this unless you're gifting it to a young sibling, cousin etc., a long-term fan of Dragon Quest, or are into very story-rich games (even though the mechanics get quickly repetitive*).

[Quick note:] There is a lot of nonsensical hate in the first few pages of comments and the more recent pages. There are a dozen-or-so pages inbetween those which have structured feedback, which will possibly cover your thoughts - FLICK OVER TO THOSE PAGES. I'm trying to keep my replies specific to the comments so you can refer to the questions to help you out when back-tracking, I guess.
