Just remember:
1) Put 100% Silver in your hearts whenever you paint in a realm (if you have it) to slow down the appearance of monsters.
2) Save obsessively.
3) Always plan 3 steps ahead.
The game was originally called "Tension" for a reason. By the 30th cycle, if you don't have your color gardens worked out, you will start feeling it. At this point, I've beaten the game on purchased difficulty (aka: harder than !@#$%^& nails), but that was after 4 restarts and 176 saves.
Have fun! :)
