no menu screen you just spawn in instantly getting like 5 achievements, trees randomly spawn around you and if they touch you you die, run forward aimlessly and hope you don't die, that's the game, this game is not worthy of bobr name

Got into space where I assume the end of the game is but no obvious continuation path no clue where to go at all my friend who also got there also doesn't know where to go just terrible level design after the first half of the game, the ice section is entirely rng you just spam and hope you get through i have no idea what the dev was thinking. Why are half the obstacles visually solid but without hitboxes you're just guessing what you can and can't land on, why can you just spam the jump button and go a million miles an hour skipping segments of the map, why does the reset button not work half the time.

It feels unfinished and super buggy, the movement is unique and is by far the best part of the game, I hope its all cleaned up it's just worse boxmans struggle atm but it would be a good game if it was polished.

I have over 100 hours so I am quite qualified to list likes and dislikes but ultimately this is by far (not counting FO76) bethesda's weakest installment it just feels less bethesda than their other games in all the worst ways, misdirected maybe. This is not an RPG it's a space action adventure game. I am still enjoying the game despite this but it largely falls flat for me. I will now randomly list things.

Positives:

Ship builder is great (although largely pointless as ships are largely pointless in the game)
On planet graphics are great especially the sol system
It's still a bethesda game (thus i have played it a lot)
Andreja exists (Sam Coe is also decent)
The cities are pretty cool even though only having like 3 major cities is a let down but at least they are very big.
Outpost building is good.

Negatives: ok just listing these randomly have fun if u acc read this

PG+13 game (whatever its actual rating is irrelevant)

Sarah Morgan exists (actually the least likeable companion in any bgs game)
Performance, 30-40 fps with a 3070 what? at least it doesn't crash ive had 1 crash ever.

Why does the game lag and freeze every time I pull out my scanner or use a weapon that has any kind of damage effect how does this get past testing.
Why are the menus so slow why do I have to scroll down 8 menus to eat an item why not just have a favourites menu.

Why does the actual favourites menu have 12 options? 12? this game has so much stuff and we get 12 favourites making aid items and powers a complete pain to use.

Why are there so many essential NPC's? I'm sorry is this an rpg or not? Literally npc's that are involved in the tiniest of quests get the essential tag. It should ONLY be faction and main quest npc's or no one at all like outer worlds the hand holding is insane let me kill who i want to kill.

Way too many perks for how slow you level, it's actually one of my biggest gripes jesus why do I need a ♥♥♥ perk to pickpocket or build more than a few outposts or do BASIC weapon mods or have VATS on my ship or even just drive bigger ships like i swear theres like 15 perks that you should just start with and a lot of the perks are completely useless you'd only take them to unlock the next perk in its tree there did not have to be this many.
Resources weigh too much for how little inventory space you have even if you take the 4 inventory perks which everyone playing without mods will.

Usual immersion breaking bugs like npcs floating through the ceiling, quests breaking, npcs breaking some were even game breaking i had to use the console on 2 occasions to unbreak
the game regarding a spoiler so i cant mention the quest but its a known issue.
Why do all npcs break their necks to look at you if you're within like 50 feet of them what kind of immersion is that

Digipick minigame is an L sorry, most things you unlock in this game are not worth any of your time let alone multiple minutes on the master digipick minigame. The easier ones are fine but without all 4 security perks its a pain doing the hard ones every 2 minutes. On PC this isn't a big deal since a mod fixes it.

Why do NPC's not drop their weapons and armor? that's like a staple of bgs games

Why is the writing so cringe "i have powers! powers!" why is there no swearing at all by the way "what the heck" etc you're teaming with like space murderers and no one swears
No gore which is weird for a bethesda game all in all the game feels super family friendly compared to fallout/skyrim, unreasonably so imo I get its a space game but its still immersion breaking.

NPC's don't have actual routines they are just static this is very immersion breaking oblivion was made like 20 years ago and every npc was like a real person way more so than in this game.

Why are there no unique weapons like in FO3, Oblivion, Skyrim, FNV etc. Unique models of weapons there's some clothing but that's it. Legit I haven't wanted to do any of the side missions outside of Faction missions because you never get a cool reward, you get the same randomly generated slightly better version of a weapon you already have and a few credits never anything cool like previous games. And with how easy it is to credits you'll be a millionaire in no time anyway so its all useless.
Dialogue options suck its basically just fallout 4's but coated to look like FNV, you have 4 options "yes" "yes but snarky" "ask for credits" and "question" that's it.

Way too many cutscenes all of which are unskippable
No open world the universe is divided into boxes you cant even go all the way round planets or travel between planets and moons manually

Why are like 98% of planets/moons human inhabited? I've found I think 2 in over 100 hours that don't have a medical lab or mine 20 feet from where you land with 30 humans in. The amount of structures is over the top.

Combat is not awful but pretty bad on controller all the weapons have way too much sway mods can fix it tho with mods the combat is pretty good way better than previous games, still no gore so all the weapons feel ♥♥♥♥.
Enemies have way too much hp at lower levels and hard difficulty just makes them more spongey its such a lazy way to do difficulty straight out of fallout 3 except in that game you got more xp at least for playing on hard.

4 Romancable Companions really 4? And all of them are tied to the same faction and all of them have basically the same morality system aka do gooder? Not a single evil companion for none-good guy playthroughs. Where's Jericho Charon or Clover from fallout 3, this game just pushes "be a good guy please" on you so hard it doesn't even feel like an rpg half the time my playthrough isn't even evil and it annoys me because it kills replayablity in an rpg.

The starmap is trash you have to google "where is city x" because if you don't remember which of the 100 star systems its in you just won't be able to find it this is massively complained about by everyone on reddit but yeah it sucks.

All the "points of interests" on planets and moons are the same, find a cryo lab? Congrats you've found every cryo lab ever the enemy locations and loot never change So much for exploration.

No hot/cute outfits for female chars why? Basically nothing feminine.

After finishing the 5 faction questlines your rewards are mostly garbage with the 1 exception being vanguard, your position in the ranks barely changes and your companions who are all drones with identical morality are all mad at you regardless of which options you took. No literally make a save before the final quest of each of the final faction missions and pick 2 opposite outcomes and watch your companion say ur a dogsh*t person either way its so f**king bad the writing.

Why is the loot so bad? I'm level 48 right now and my highest dps weapon is a random legendary I found like 25 levels ago. My best spacesuit is from about 10 levels ago. It's so so rare to find anything you haven't already seen you might get to a new level and see a new weapon or 2 in the world as a result but not much. The spacesuits in particular are so rare to find one with actual good stats it feels like suits don't even get better idk if im missing something or what.

Why do I have to build all the furniture in my house myself out of resources I found? Oh no i need a bed but I don't have adhesive guess I need to go to a random star system 500 light years away to kill a goat that drops it or mine it or go to a store can't I just have the option to buy it instead of building it if I'm in a major city? For outposts I get that you have to make it but for in the city you really shouldn't have to do it yourself I want to use my resources on weapon mods not chairs.

Why do vendors have nothing useful? No reason to ever go to a vendor other than to sell your stuff they never stock actual gear I guess because if they did then the gear would be too high levelled or whatever idk vendors have mostly always been trash in bgs games but it seems almost worse here.
