I've been waiting so long for a proper IGAvania, and since we never got to see him finish his 1999 Demon War story in Castlevania before getting sacked from Konami, I wasn't sure if we would ever see one. But then came along this game on a wingéd steed wielding a sabre and a chalice, and came to save the day.

This game is really great. Though at the time of writing this the PC version is badly in need of a patch. But I'm sure when it is patched it'll live up to become the successor to Castlevania the world needed.

In which Trevor Belmont, Sypha, and Alucard are reborn in this game as Miriam, Alfred, and Alucard. Perfection. I love it.

This game has an absolutely phenomenal presentation, with a look very reminiscent of certain anime studios during the past but maintaining its own unique flavour. The game isn't entirely perfect, as it has quite a few typos in the subtitle text and occasionally the controls act a bit wonky due to the nature of the flow of the character of Anne, but it's pretty close for the type of game it is. At the time I write this review I've not yet finished the game on my first runthrough of it, but it's impressed me constantly. I love it.

This game is a cute, cheesy, fun and fluffy read that combines a buddy road trip adventure in the American Southwest/West with a love story containing themes of moving on from past sorrow. The main leads play off each other well, and I absolutely adore the all characters, and while I wish there was a bit more variety in the music and the background CGs, I otherwise had a lot of fun reading/seeing this. It's fairly short and I played it straight though from beginning to end in one sitting, lasting me about 4.5 hours. But it delivers in its content, absolutely.

Don't go into this expecting anything particularly deep, angsty, or novel, but don't dismiss it either because of its general lightheartedness. The world could use more cheesy, fun stories like this, especially involving and representing healthy LGBTQ+ characters and relationships.
