Metaphor: ReFantazio is a game that, much like a fine wine, gets better the more you dive into it — except, instead of wine, you’re sipping on a delicious cocktail of bizarre fantasy, moral dilemmas, and magical creatures that’ll make you question your very existence. Developed by Studio Zero (the folks behind Shin Megami Tensei), this game is a blend of the familiar and the utterly out-there, like if Lord of the Rings met Alice in Wonderland and had a very philosophical conversation. On Steam, this is where the magic happens, and trust me, it’s an experience you’ll either love or contemplate for days after.

Gameplay
The gameplay? It's got that classic RPG goodness that we all crave — turn-based combat that makes you feel like a wizard as you throw around magical abilities like you're in a Harry Potter movie, only with fewer owls. It’s strategic, which means you can’t just mash buttons and hope for the best (unless you’re feeling particularly rebellious). You’ll need to summon, fuse, and evolve all kinds of weird and wonderful creatures to help you through, which feels a little like being a mad scientist with a pet collection.

Exploration is where the game shines, though. It’s not just about bashing things with your sword (although there’s plenty of that too). You’ll be wandering through strange lands, solving puzzles, and occasionally being absolutely bamboozled by what’s going on — because, let’s be real, sometimes the game throws you curveballs that make you think, "Did I miss a memo about how surreal this is supposed to get?"

The combat system is as satisfying as it is brutal. Picture yourself in a battle with a giant winged beast that may or may not be a metaphor for your internal struggles. Yeah, Metaphor: ReFantazio isn’t afraid to dig deep.

Graphics & Performance
Graphically, this game is a treat. The environments are lush and beautiful, with the kind of vibrant colors and intricate designs that make you want to stop and admire every corner of the world. It's like the game’s constantly trying to show off — and, frankly, it deserves to. Whether you’re strolling through a city of crystal towers or fighting a shadowy creature in a murky forest, there’s always something jaw-dropping to look at.

Performance-wise, it runs smoothly for the most part. On mid-range PCs, you’ll get a solid 60 FPS with minimal stuttering, meaning you won’t be too distracted by the technical stuff to actually, you know, enjoy the game. It’s the kind of game that rewards patience, so don’t expect lightning-fast action, but the payoff is absolutely worth it.

Final Thoughts
Metaphor: ReFantazio is like the RPG version of a philosophical rollercoaster. It’s weird, it’s beautiful, it’ll make you question everything, and it has that addictive “just one more turn” quality that keeps you hooked. Sure, it might be a little slow to start, and the moral dilemmas might leave you feeling like you need a nap afterward, but if you’re into high-stakes fantasy with a hefty side of deep thinking, this is your jam.

Overall, if you enjoy games where the story is as twisted as the plot of your favorite fantasy novel and you’ve got a soft spot for strategic turn-based combat, you’ll be right at home here. Plus, you’ll probably have an existential crisis by the time the credits roll, so it’s a win-win.

Rating: 9/10
If you love a good "what did I just play?" experience, Metaphor: ReFantazio is the perfect game to do it. Highly recommended for fans of weird RPGs, mythical creatures, and thinking too hard about life.

Airship Syndicate promoted a live-service MMO action RPG game, along with a battlepass and micro-transactions. Without any transparency and communication, they did a complete 180 and silently made it into a single-player game. They removed all micro-transactions, which made all of the founder's packages worthless (upward value of 130+ dollars).

Steam refused my refund for the founder's packs despite me not receiving any of the original value that was promised. The biggest issue with all of this is they decided on their terms they would start making a single-player game without community consensus.

They paid their 89 employees for 3+ months to develop the single-player version of the game (unbeknownst to the community) using the money from the founder's packages/early access, when they instead could have issued refunds at that point and moved on to their next venture. If they were an honest company with morals, 3-6 months ago they would have made a blog post about the ACTUAL direction of the game and whether or not the community would want a single-player version. Instead, they chose to go silent this year and dump a less-than-MVP 1.0 release at the end of this month.

As a follow-up to Airship Syndicate, your customers are your most valuable assets. You completely screwed over the most loyal, who purchased into your founder's packs. Do you honestly believe these same people will purchase future products from you that get released? You burned that bridge, and quite frankly this was both my first and last purchase with you.

Stated by another user but sums up my feelings as a whole. The bait and switch.

One the the better reverse bullet hell games out. It has enough of it own unique art style, effects, mechanic and progression to make this a very enjoyable game.

I have been playing early access games for a long time like most of you. After being burned by so many, I was skeptical to try another survival crafting game. During my research of the game I found the game was seemingly bug-free. That is not to say it does not have any bugs, most are just not super game breaking. Since putting in forty hours so far I can say the game is smooth and runs well. The only negative thing I can say about the games is it needs more player slots for dedicated and LAN servers.

In conclusion, if you enjoy survival games as a whole you will fall in love with this one. It has that minecraft calmness from the music to sound design and art style. The best thing for me is this game respects my time and takes some of the grind out of it. Grab some friends and some mead and go build something!

Relaxing and Rich Story

If you enjoy a relaxing game with a well crafted story, then you will have a lot of fun. Fans of the Metal Gear series will be pleasantly surprised at what this game offers. One of the best features for me is the connected world with other players. Let's say you find yourself traveling near a mountain. We'll if you have connected the network , some one may have left you a handy ladder or climbing anchor. This game may not be for everyone but if you want to play something that's not just another shooter or JRPG then give this game a chance.

The most generous free to play game, I have ever played. They give you multiple card packs a day ways to earn gold for pack campaigns and theme decks. A very good middle ground between Hearthstone and Magic the Gathering: Arena. More people should pick this game up solid 8/10 game.

So far a huge improvement from original Fishing Planet still needs a few bug fixes and some love with updates. But worth the money and time 8/10
