Has a very Animal Crossing feel although less diverse gameplay and features. Still very enjoyable in a casual sense to just hang out, chit chat and fish. I like that there's no pressure to chase login rewards or timed quests, you just kinda go at your own pace. If you're looking for something casual with friends just to pass the time, this isn't a bad pick.

This is such a good throwback to the arcade style TMNT games of the beat-em up genre with the addition of April and Splinter for playable characters and Casey Jones as an unlockable. I've played local co-op with my kids and have had a blast. The controls feel good and the addition of features like giving some of your health to an ally are great.

Anyone who's looking to scratch that NES itch with some improved mechanics should definitely get this game.

I also want to note that the soundtrack is pretty fun as well.

It's an interesting concept and something I'd recommend to try out with friends.

My family and I have put a decent amount of time into this. It's also something I enjoy showing friends, especially those who are fans of the show.

As a VR Title
positives
- There are numerous things to actually interact with and the physics of those interactions are done well.
- The use of space is set up in a way that doesn't make the player feel overly restricted despite being in a small location.
- The visual style is appropriate representation of the cartoon and while I would have liked to see it stylized slightly different, I think it works well. Things are also scaled appropriately which in VR can break immersion.
- They also have an option to adjust the world if someone shorter is playing it which I think needs to be a VR standard.
- Gameplay wise is more of a small scaled sandbox with sort of Easter egg entertainment. While that can be a subjective plus or minus, in terms of its execution I'd categorize it as a positive.

negatives
- Short duration. 1-3 hours. While this is somewhat common among VR titles and to be expected, the time played is only extended by letting yourself enjoy the "sandbox" like a little kid would. I think for most people, duration considering the price is a bit steep.
- Outside of your willingness to entertain yourself with the small interactions, there doesn't feel like a lot of content to appeal as far as gameplay goes. There's nothing you would really do on repeat. Again, this is more of a sandbox, but it's also something worth noting as it just feels like it needs a little more.

As a Rick and Morty game
positives
- The Easter eggs scattered throughout the game I think are awesome. There's content both in audio and visual that are fun and entertaining to discover.
- The voice acting is on par with the show, obviously.
- The humor is also on par with the show, both from the dialogue and pieces in the game to some of the independent interactions you'll find yourself running into.

negatives
- Direct contact with main cast--Rick and Morty namely--is severely limited. This is probably my biggest gripe. While it makes sense with the narrative they give you, I was really hoping to feel like your "a part" of the main cast in an episode or something. If most Rick and Morty episodes are written with A and B stories, you're the C story.

Overall I'm going to give it a recommend because I think the developers did a good job in general and deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. I also try to think of this as an immersive interactive movie in the Rick and Morty Universe where you get to just do story C.

My 2 cents for a Rick and Morty VR title would to be something that incorporated procedurally (seeded) generated dimensions/worlds you can teleport to. The ability to "puppet" various cast. A floating camera. Extend the objects and things to interact and play with. Let players explore dimensions with a friend or two. Allow it to be another sandbox focused title, but with more incentive to explore and interact. The floating cam and puppeteering of the cast would allow people to make their own little 3-5 minute mini-episodes.

This is probably my favorite game in the horror genre for a variety of reasons, but the main thing for me that put it at the top was the games ability to successfully explore certain philosophical topics, namely the Teletransportation Paradox. The sci-fi theme is a perfect setting for this kind of thought experiment and the anxiety induced by the horror elements in this game really add an emotional intensity to it that sort of had me mentally on the edge of my seat while digesting and thinking about the ideas provoked in this game. The content in the audio logs, letters, dialogues and other story telling elements are useful in stimulating your thoughts between the game's "moments" so to speak. With that, I think the "walking-sim" aspect of the game is not a problem since the story is to stimulate and give you time to churn these ideas around in your head.

This game can be feel both strange and horrifying if the story and ideas are things you've never bothered thinking about, but even for someone familiar with them, I think one can appreciate the way SOMA depicts these subject.

This is honestly an entertaining and strategic MOBA that cuts out the tower defense aspects that other games within this genre utilizes and focuses more on carving out the mechanics and gameplay revolving around hero to hero combat. This isn't to say that the laning phases of other titles in this genre take away from those games, but rather my attempt to convey to other potential players where the meat of this game thrives.

As of now, there are two main game modes. The first is the traditional team battles (2v2 & 3v3) and another game mode (currently in beta) that's an objective based 3v3. The traditional modes are generally shorter than the objective based, but both modes are equally fun.

I'm still acquainting myself with champions, but I really appreciate each champions skills being designed in a way that allows different heroes to have some level of familiarity by setting a foundation to work from such as a mobility skill (gap closer or escape) and a defensive skill (counter or block). Using this as a starting point I think will help with balancing champions out as well as making it easier to transition between characters. There is enough variety in playstyle between characters that it's important to be mindful of your approach given your team and opponents composition.

I hope this game continues to grow. I also hope they will continue to extend the themes and creativity of their cosmetic gear, a greatly appreciated feature in games like this.

I've spent a significant amount of hours playing this game with my two children. While the game is geared towards a younger audience, it's easily enjoyed by adults who can be proportionate with their expectations. LEGO games are generally well designed, but LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is -- at least in my opinion -- the best overall. It's easy to get into, the controls and mechanics feel intuitive, puzzles are easy enough for younger gamers (it's enjoyable to watch the trial and error as they attempt to figure out each challenge), the characters are cheesy but likeable and comical. I actually even began a play through with my ex-wife at one point and we were both entertained by it.

Pros
  • First and foremost, local co-op. One of my favorite features.
  • Visuals are appropriate to the LEGO theme and animations well done, even amusing at times.
  • Controls on all fronts feel intuitive. Characters abilities, movement (ground, vehicle, & flying), interactions, etc.
  • Open-world.
  • Puzzles are easy enough for youth, but provide a balanced challenge for them.
  • Characters are comical and entertaining.
  • Soundtrack is actually good.
  • Audio effects fit well with everything.
  • Casual replay and entertainment value are high.
  • Small amount of mini-games or interactions e.g. Little RC Cars
  • Customizable LEGO characters (limited).

Cons
  • No networked co-op.
  • Could use a larger variety of mini-games.
  • Could improve character customization options.
  • No dynamic or random events in open-world gameplay.

Overall, this game is pretty great. I'd love to see a continuation of the series that overhauls the game by taking it's foundation and expanding upon what's already layed down. Anyone with children or even those who find these games entertaining, I'd definitely recommend it.

This is one of those games that I would suggest playing with a friend. I played this with my Father and greatly enjoyed it. Some of your shots are enhanced by a mini-cutscene where the camera follows your bullet and even sometimes activates an x-ray mode where the slug breaks bones and enters organs making the whole spectacle really fun and satisfying. The game by itself is pretty solid, but with co-op incorporated into the game, I see no reason not to recommend it to others.

I highly recommend this game, specifically as a co-op adventure with friends. It's an comical cartoony side-scrolling beat em up game that is easy enough to pick up and challenging enough to keep you playing. There are unlockable features from pets who offer bonuses to your character, weapons and additional characters. Overall great for 2-4 players.

Anyone who enjoys tower defense games should check this game out. While most tower defense games focus on the phases between waves, Dungeon Defenders players take control of specific heroes who can engage the enemies during the waves while offering a unique set of towers and skills.
