This was a great time in co-op.

If there are any updates or even a sequel, I will be there.

HEY THIS GAME IS AWESOME IDK WHY I TOOK NEARLY 2 YEARS TO GIVE IT A STEAM REVIEW.

It stands completely on its own when compared to the 2005 original. Play it.

THIS PC PORT IS A MESS ON ITS OWN.
Look into SIlentPatch for Yakuza Kiwami 2 to fix the game's frame pacing.
Note that even with this patch installed I still needed to set the Framelimit to "Unlimited" and manually cap it to 60 in my GPU software to completely get rid of the issues.

Excellent game once you can get the issues out of the way. I was expecting to not enjoy the combat after hearing about the jank in the dragon engine games, but nah man- I love the physics jank. Sending guys flying and flopping across the street makes me feel a certain type of way. Leveling up via eating food is not as annoying as I thought it would be, but I dove into this game right after grinding Majima Everywhere in Yakuza Kiwami 1, so it didn't annoy as much.

An excellent time and a great remake of the original game. Since this is built off the systems of Yakuza 0 I recommend against marathoning them together as things can get tedious quick once you start Kiwami. You can also see where they reused cutscene animations from the PS2 original lol.

If you're only going to play one Yakuza game, make it this one.

If I could mark my individual review as "mixed" then I would, I'd give the overall expansion a 6.5/10.

Shadows of Rose is a fun time but not very replayable (if you are an achievement hunter then I recommend playing it on hardcore to not have to replay it). The beginning of Shadows of Rose is a bit of a drag but it actually gets better as it goes on. There are great set pieces later on and as a send-off for the "Ethan Winters Story" its a decent finish.

Third person mode and additional mercenaries content is cool, but it doesn't cover the rest of the price of this expansion.

Buy this expansion on sale (or as part of the Gold edition on sale) and its a Positive review.
At full price it would be a Negative review from me.

A fun time! This is not my favorite Resident Evil game but it is a blast to play through.

I've heard others describe this game as a "horror theme park" and I think that's an apt analogy. Each section sees you going against a different villain in a different theme, from vampires in a Gothic castle to a factory producing mechanical abominations. It's fun to see the RE/Biohazard take on classic horror monsters, like werewolves and fishmen, while not going too overboard.

In terms of horror the game gets nowhere near the 7th game (other than one section that is scary the first time but not on repeats), but the pacing is mostly excellent and the action combat feels great. There are a bunch of unlockables that provide a great incentive to play multiple times, and your weapons and tools can carryover into new runs to make even the highest difficulty manageable.

I don't think I will be coming back to this game as much because of the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake, but that's fine. I think this game stands on its own and is worth a couple playthroughs.

Yeah, this is probably the worst "Souls" game developed by FromSoftware. Does that mean this game is terrible? No, I don't think so.

There is a vast amount of content in the game, and while many of the bosses just kinda exist, there are a bunch of great fights mixed in. The DLC areas in this game are excellent and make me wish for a base Dark Souls 2 with level design just as good.

On another note, the game's lore is actually pretty damn good, with callbacks to the first game without being entirely dependent on it like Dark Souls 3.
