Decent if a little short. If I'd min-maxed I could have completed in a little over 2 hours.
Good design and audio, gameplay is also ok but a little repetitive.

What this does well is make me interested in where a bigger project can go from this dev.

3 hours in, so still first impressions from someone who's enjoyed many hundreds of hours of previous DA games.

Performance: A few stutters here and there, I think this is just down to my PC (I really need to clear up my windows install tbh). But playing at 5120x1440 everything on max and I'm extremely happy with the overall performance. (5800X, 32GB RAM, 4070).

Graphics: I'm seriously impressed with the quality of the graphics here, especially the lighting. Really sets the fantasy tone nicely. You can argue about the looks of the individual characters and stylising as much as you like, that's entirely subjective to you, I don't mind it so far. Some of the lip synching feels a little weak as well, but mostly what I've seen so far is passable and could easily be patched to improve. Also, the HAIR! best in any game? Maybe...

Audio: As good as you could expect or need.

Writing: My first major negative. Everyone feels like they don't care the world is basically ending. There's a LOT of jokes, quips and funnies, and not enough seriousness. I guess this balances out with the absolute seriousness within DA:I (Cassandra, lighten up chick) but I feel like there needs to be a middle ground. The overall storyline so far feels ok though, enough threat and intrigue to keep me playing for sure. Also, your player character seems to know way too much about the world and previous things that have happened in some instances, and then absolutely nothing in others.

Gameplay: The world adventuring is fun and engaging, and the combat feels fast and intuitive, with plenty of options to tailor it how you'd like. I feel like a few points could be improved, trying to activate some objects require you to be in very specific points, and could be a little more forgiving.

Character creator: As good as any from previous games, plenty of options for all sorts of things. Oh and if you reply saying anything about "wokeness" then you're the problem, not the game. Grow up.

Overall so far I'm intrigued, wanting to play more and see where the story takes me, back into the depths of Thedas.

I don't often write reviews for games. Most don't leave me feeling anything other than "that was ok" and then I'm able to walk away. Good, but forgettable.

Superliminal is not that type of game.
Fantastically thought out puzzles, level design, story and depth that you don't see in other games.

It's far from a perfect game, but the few things you may notice are not deal breakers in terms of this somewhat short but impactful game.

This is the type of game that once it ends, you feel something. And not a lot of games do that.

The very idea of a "simple = beautiful" game. And that's not to say there's no complexity, the synergies and planning you can take in this game are fantastic and you can pivot on a run every few turns if you want. No two runs are the same, but every run can give something you never realised before.

A simple game, that is simply fun.

One of those "Just one more run" games that works so well. You can simultaneously feel ridiculously overpowered, while knowing that one mistake may tip you over into "I'm in danger" territory. Great level design and variety with tight controls.

It's like crack, if crack were legal and you could mod it to be higher resolution and fix the annoying addiction bugs.
