Stardew Valley is a great, and very fun game that to some who just start out blind may seem like one of those Facebook time waster games (e.g. Farmville), however it's far from this. It's a nice game with quirky characters, a great soundtrack, and a simple premise. Restoring your grandfather's old farm to its former glory. The story even shows that ConcernedApe tried, and put work he could be proud with in the making of this game. The start is a bit slow, as the player starts off with a small amount of money(No, not a million dollars), little energy, and not so great tools. As mentioned above they just inherrited their grandfather's farm, which hasn't had any groundskeeping done, so for the first few days the player will spend this time cleaning things up, trying to get a feel for all of what's available at the start, getting to know the townsfolk, and more. As time goes on, more things open up in the game, and in that time the player should have hopefully made a nice bit of profit so they can plant more, upgrade tools, and make their farm nicer.

The game mechanics are rather simple, the standard A, S, D, and W for walking, left clicking to interact with characters and to use your tools, right click to use food items/interact with doors and ladders, F to open up your journal. A useful feature later on with some upgraded tools is that you can hold the left mouse button and it'll bring up a little grid for what's being interacted with on ground for planting.

The review of the story is going to be short and sweet, plus mostly spoiler free! The story takes place over a couple in game years, albeit time consuming because of some grinding required to complete some tasks(Some based on RNG) There are two paths to take throughout the game. You either save the town from the big corporation, Joja Mart, by doing farm work and completing tasks, or you side with Joja Mart by buying membership perks

There are many easter eggs(In one case, literally) to find throughout the game, and there are some fun minigames. The graphics are nice and the soundtrack is absolutely amazing. <3 The modding potential for this game is also incredible. Already I've been messing around with some fun mods.

All in all this game is well worth the 15$ and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who has been even remotely curious about giving this wonderful game a try. I've clocked in over 250 hours so far in this game over the almost year this game has been out. The most recent update relit that spark I've had for the game after the two month break I took from it. Another thing is this game helped me cope with the somewhat recent loss of my cat I've had for ten years back in March. This game can certainly help those who are feeling down and keep their mind off of what life is throwing at them so they find themselves again. And to that, I wholeheartedly thank ConcernedApe for making such a wonderful game. <3
