One of the best games ever made, a true masterpiece. This is a translation from Russian so its not as good as playing it in Russian and there is a bit less content (in terms of missions and text quests as they were not all translated) but if you don't mind something that sounds a bit odd due to translation difference the gameplay is still very fun if you like sandbox type space games. This is like star citizen but a finished single player game from 20 years ago. There are still patches occasionally released by a single ex dev who stopped getting paid by the company in 2016 but sill fixes bugs and makes improvements for free to this day. The modding community is also still active patching the mods and making new ones, though they're russian, not sure on availability of mods for the english version and how up to date they are but there should still be some in the modding discord.

Cheating tool detection can be bypassed by renaming the executables (lol) you can guess how cheat resistant the rest of the game is. Even worse than tarkov and that is an accomplishment. Bans only ban the account, nothing else, they don't even try to hardware ban to make it more complicated for 12 year olds to cheat again. As a result cheaters are too common for comfort.

Ranked mode does not exist. Its just a participation award to cuddle vulnerable zoomers. You play against people that have similar hidden stat based mmr (arbitrary and not even accurate) and you gain enough points (vs losing) that you can climb by just winning 25% or less of your games while not being able to derank out of a tier. So anyone can get max rank by just playing a lot vs terrible players just like themselves. Given this, ranks also don't mean anything as you can be playing against anyone of any rank in "ranked" and you will be matched (if playing solo) with players of much worse mmr than your own to quickly put you into an average mmr game (if your own mmr is high) producing some of the worst solo experience of any game. Not that it matters since "ranked" is just quickplay with an extra bar of xp and levels having icons attached to them. Top leaderboard players simply have a lot of hours and just pubstomp randoms all day.

On top of external cheating being easy, you can just cheat with game's own built in cheating tools, such as having aim assist even when playing against players with no aim assist.

Core gameplay can be fun, but given the above, this game is a turd and going to be dead soon (already dead on twitch).

Hot garbage

Its was fun for the first 200 hours or so, then gets really boring and repetitive. Map designer is an amateur and his maps suck. The main dev and the owner of the title does not want to bother hiring anyone competent to further the development. It was worth the money but I would not recommend buying it now, the game is dead and supposedly it hasn't gotten better, from what I hear from people still playing it, the game is worse with the changes that have been made. Doubt there will be much of a future for this even when it leaves early access.

Unplayable pile of trash. This garbage will never work or be playable, not in 100 years.
Literally spawn in, get shot by a cheater and all 3 people in your party will have their game crash and not even be able to log back in. That's when you can get this steaming turd to even load into a server. Makes tarkov look almost playable.

The extreme clunkness and jankiness equivalent to what dayz mod was 10 years ago deserves a special mention, however I don't feel like wasting time describing it in detail. All this is, is an arma mod made by an amateur, making it standalone did not resolve any of the core engine problems it always had. Zombies still teleport all over you, animations look like a high schooler made them for a school project, running down the stairs will teleport you to another dimension inside the textures and break your legs after you come out a minute later, getting hit with melee or swinging inside a building will once again keep teleporting you in and out of textures where you can't attack but can get hit by mobs, and so on. Everything is as scuffed and jank as it can possibly be.

Trash game.

Swarmed with cheaters at higher mmr which in this game is your average loot extracted per game. After a certain point it becomes unplayable, every game rage hacking spinning around shooting shotguns across the map flying around hitting everyone with pickaxes inbreds, invincibility, etc. Game has 0 internal protection against cheating, its like playing quake 3 arena, everything can be modified clientside. Even if they get banned they just make a new account and instantly go get new high tier gear by killing people, rinse and repeat.

The retarded matchmaking system also makes it so you always play against 3 stacks if solo/duo at higher mmr's. It would be very simple to make duo/solo only servers since it would also make no difference to playerbase or que times since there are no que times and map is continuous with people constantly joining and leaving. Devs are too braindead for that though.

There is no reconnect feature so if you get stuck in terrain, while vaulting over ♥♥♥♥, crash or if your inventory bugs out where you can't do anything even equip the gun, you lose everything. On top of that your character despawns and your teammates can't pick anything up either since it just vanishes.

Getting better gear is a waste of time since white trench gun (shotgun) 2 shots everything even purple armor. Higher tier armor that takes exponentially more farming and money to craft has an exponentially lower armor rating so using purple or higher armor makes no difference vs blue and barely any vs green. Higher tier guns are also capped at 30% damage boost. No reason to run anything better than green/blue.

Game is overall quite buggy, it should be listed as early access.

Lag compensation is insane and there is no region lock. You will die to asia players around corners and even though you killed them 2 seconds ago you will still die to their delayed clientside hits while they were still alive on their end thanks to their lag.

There is extremely strong fall damage, which feels like ♥♥♥♥ to play with in this kind of game. You will also fall off edges if you stand anywhere near them since some of the edges are bugged and will slide you off for no reason. Would have been much better if the game had same system as Apex.

Not worth playing atm even for free. If the cheaters weren't so rampant it would be playable even with the other issues but its a trash experience when you get high enough loot rating.

Devs also seem to be braindead if after 2 years of early acess and betas this is what the game turns out like. Will need another 2+ years at this rate for the game to be decent.

Game is some of the most fun time I've had when playing full loot pvp. Unfortunately it died pretty quick as early access content is 200 hours at most. Hopefully with next content patch there will be more plebs to stomp into quitting.

Gets very repetitive after 12 hours. You've seen it all after that. Can just get different weapons and abilities, but the missions/enemies/maps are all the exact same thing over and over. Whether I kill things with rockets or miniguns or shotguns doesn't make much of a difference to me. Its fine if you like doing same stuff over and over or if unwinding after some competitive games before bed. I've actually played a decent amount of hours with my wife, after a long break the game isn't too bad for about 25 levels.
Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a single player/co-op experience that's fun for hundreds of hours and provides varied and interesting gameplay.

Would give a mixed/neutral rating if it were possible.
If you can buy it for about 15 bucks on steam key resellers its definitely worth it for playing with family or friends short term.

Supposedly the company is trying to be better after being taught a lesson by the community, surely it can only go up from there.
The base game has 500+ hours of content, at least a few hundred if you play fast. The dlc's add hundreds of hours more and are definitely worth it.
Its like crusader kings where there are 300 bucks worth of dlc but its all worth it in the end.
