Good enough that I bought it for my two nephews because I didn't want to buy the "support us" DLC

Fun game. Ignore everyone complaining about the UI - the developers have it at the top of their priority list and they understand that the community didn't like the direction they went with it.

6.5/10. If you liked the other two, this will be tolerable. There are three things that I liked about the first two games: the story, the combat, and the puzzles. With the exception of a couple of specific, excellent puzzles (which I do not think make up for the sheer amount of water in this game), I believe that both of the previous games are better than this one. Do not buy at full price, but if it's on a big sale, it's more than able to give you a generally enjoyable experience for a low price.

Early Access Review
This is the first time that I have hyperfixated on a newly purchased game for so long. Highly addictive and very enjoyable.

The NPCs introduced did not feel as interesting or fleshed-out as the main game, even if there was a lot of potential for having a female perspective other than that of the French court. The hospital was incredibly winding and frustrating to navigate considering how direct everything was: there was minimal room for exploration, and any setbacks were extremely frustrating considering the distinct lack of checkpoints. The new enemies were moderately interesting, but they got old incredibly quickly considering how they dominate most of the encounters in the region. The boss was fine, although not particularly outstanding. The main reason I purchased the DLC was to gain more worldbuilding regarding Cagliostro and the details of the automat-threat, but that was much more tame than I had wished. Admittedly, I did not utilize the unique weapons, although I consider that more of a bonus on the side of the base-game considering how engaging the pre-existing options already war, especially due to how late in the game this DLC is completed (with the content being gated behind the penultimate story-mission being a MASSIVE downside). I purchased this on a small sale and was incredibly disappointed, and view it was one of the worst RoIs that I've received from a DLC.

This was my first Soulslike. It was very enjoyable with a surprisingly engaging story despite the premise, and the flavor for Aegis was excellent, and combat felt graceful when you performed well. The bosses were extremely easy (I was able to beat all but 1 on my first try), but this was made up for by them being possessed by a figure from the French Revolution and having aesthetic elements which reflect this, making them feel much more engaging than the gameplay would suggest. My largest complaint would be the absurd loading times, especially once you hit the midgame and have a series of side-quests that take you to 2 or more different zones.

8.5/10, and a very enjoyable introduction to the genre for me, a history nerd with no particular interest in the French Revolution.

(Do not buy Cagliostro's Secrets, which is one of the worst DLCs I have ever purchased.)

The overpriced DLC came with limited interactivity with its two new mechanics which had immense potential, and it came with the buggiest issues I have EVER seen with a DLC release.

Excellent game. Definitely worthwhile if you enjoy Bioshock. Solid plot and excellent gameplay, although the latter feels like a bit of a slog towards the last couple of missions (even if the plot picks up). There's a single well-known and well-hated (for good reason) trope that exists in the plot at a certain point, but this game is the only medium of media that I've seen that pulls it off well. Excellent replayability for a couple of additional runs with particular challenges/goals or achievement hunting, but it falls off a cliff soon after. Definitely AT LEAST a 9/10.

It's kinda expensive, but it is a very good deal. The game is extremely addicting and can be very calming. Mods help it tremendously, and it is 100% perfect for people who don't have constant internet access. Get a Steam Controller and put it up on a larger screen while you're lying down or exercising and you can have loads of fun.
