As someone who was very, very excited to play No Man's Sky from the very first time it was shown at E3 2013, I was fully prepared to pre-order the game and pay full price for it, giving it the benefit of the doubt, even though reviews had been absolutely savage. Unfortunately, they were correct. The game does not at all live up to the many features and content previously promised, including multiplayer. I had looked past this and sunk ~15 hours into the game, despite numerous crashes and severe frame-rate drops on a newly built PC which runs just about everything else perfectly (suggesting bad optimization as well). Finally, the developers dropped on us the huge truth bomb that now our discoveries will be erased after 2 weeks, thereby removing what i believe to be one of the last redeeming features of this game.
