Can't play "online solo" or join a server without the game crashing. Can't host a private server without it crashing either and considering it gives you the option to rent a server i don't believe they'll fix hosting a private server anytime soon.

Fresh impression here. Haven't played the first one (except for the 8/16-bit version but that was less than 30 minutes) and i can say it's really frustrating! But it's a fun kind of frustration as when you die it's always on you... for the most part.
Anyways, do you enjoy a platformer with randomized levels with low health? This game is for you.

Do you like the later Wonder Boy games?

Do you like old-school "metroidvanias" like Metroid, Simon's Quest and the later Wonder Boy/Monster World games?
With a dash of Ghost n Goblins (Super Ghouls n Ghosts) difficulty? Then this game is for you.

You like JRPGs? This game is a must in that case. Gameplay is great! there isn't a menu to choose what attack to do (nothing wrong with that) but an active battle and a combo system that makes random battles so more fun.
The story is the highlight though, it's your typical teen hero saving everyone and doing nothing wrong but an adult and stuff have consequences.
Can't recommend this game enough.

Wonder boy is back after 25 years and boy (pun intended) did they do right.
if you liked Dragon's trap this is a game you have to buy and play as the gameplay borrows heavily from it.

You change animal forms to progress and they can also learn new stuff to help with progress (you don't need a room or the beast sword to change forms, you can do it on the fly).

Most of the music (i think) is taken from Dragon's trap but there's some tunes from the other games aswell (it's remixed ofcourse).


Final thoughts: If you liked Wonder boy 2 and upwards and want a new adventure in the same style you won't regret it.
For newcomers: The game i can compare it to is Hollow Knight and it's a more colourfull and lighthearted game without too much of a story.

So dumb but oh so fun.

I'm not very good at words, they are complicated! But i'd recommend this game to anyone who played the first Diablo and any of the new indie card games (Hand of fate, Slay the spire and etc) and like those types of games.

It's like the Dark Souls of Dark Souls. It's good enough.

I'm not very good at FPS and this game reinforces that to the max. If you want a game that demands map learning and also alot of twitch movements, this is the game. If you want to play the game casually, stay away.

It's a great game but it's not for me. That's why i i'm giving it a thumbs down.
