This game has ruined my life. My girlfriend left me, and took the dogs with her. My family refuses to talk to me, and I missed out on the birth of my son because of this game. Jokes on them though they don't know I'm an Elden Lord.

The year is 2012. You just finished Mass Effect 3's campaign. The ending left a fair bit to be desired, but the gameplay was pretty good. As you sit on the main screen and reminisce on the adventure you've had, you see an option there on the screen. Its nothing new, you've seen the Multiplayer icon there before. I mean, its just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Horde mode ripoff right?

But you realise now that you might as well give it a go. Worst case, you can complain about it online anyways. 15 minutes and 10 waves later, as you fight as hard as you can to extract alongside 3 random players using those cool aliens you always wanted to play as, it starts to dawn on you. This isn't half bad.

Even still, I always thought that the MP of this game would die, and people would move on. And yeah, they did move on. Including myself. But when I saw the Legendary Collection wouldn't include MP, I was suprisingly... sad. I was looking forward to a resurgence of players, especially after the ♥♥♥♥ show that was Andromeda and it's MP. So I bought this game to cash in on some nostalgia, not expecting anyone else to be playing.

My longest wait time for a game was 15 seconds. That's faster than CoD wait times.

This game is amazing. The "loot boxes" can all be bought with in game currency, and at the highest levels, you can get one "Spectre" box (highest level box) per game (15-20 mins). And with all 5 free MP DLCs, there is a LOT of content to work through. I'm glad EA and Bioware won't add MP to the Legendary Edition now, so they can't nickel and dime it to hell like Battlefield has been lately.

TL;DR: Yes, people still play this game. And you should too.

Hopefully it'll be worth playing again after a couple months of content drops. Not a bad game, just not a lot to do other than grind, with no purpose FOR the grind.
