Trover Saves The Universe
”Do you guys know what a wall is?”

”Non VR Review”

So I played this without VR just using a gamepad. The game is a fun platformer with combat and light puzzles.

It plays great and is an enjoyable game. Playing it in VR will of course be a more immersive experience

You could speed run the game in probably 5 hours. But if you take your time and do everything and enjoy the dialogue your looking about 10 hours.

If you like Rick & Morty and High on Life and their brand of loose almost improvisational humour, you will enjoy this.

It's a shame what has come out of the woodwork about Justin Roiland in the last couple of years, but if you ever were a fan I would highly recommend.

”VR Review”

Pending, should I ever be bothered to get VR.

Tony Hawk's™ Pro Skater™ 3+4
”Welcome home guys!”

”Review Intro”

THPS2 was my first skateboarding game growing up and when THPS3 dropped I got hooked on the series. Then obviously dabbled in skating IRL for a while.

The series clearly struggled past American Wasteland until the release of the mighty 1+2 which was a fantastic return to form.

A lot of people have issues with the DRM and always online, I just really don't care as we have a fully functional and polished THPS on the PC again.

”THPS3 & THPS4 Combined

THPS 3 for me is the GOAT of the series, I adore it. This is a perfect remake of 3.

Now THPS 4 on the other hand I wasn't as upset when I heard the original “Career mode” wasn't being remade.

Go back and play it now, it's very bloated and it hasn't aged well. I believe a lot of the stompy feet boycott the game brigade are suffering from rose tinted glasses disorder.

This streamlined mode is good, sure the levels are a little big for the standard 2 minute mode but they have adapted it well and offer ways to extend it.

The original THPS 4 career laid the foundations for THUG but I reckon people are holding onto nostalgia a little too hard because the THPS 4 career was bloated as hell and a little janky. It was revolutionary in 2002 but I think the right decision was made.

I just don't care that much about the missing play baseball with the ghosts and random NPC fetch quests. THUG will have this should it be remastered!

A wonderful remake of 3 & 4 with all the “new” gameplay and mechanics etc. So we got Manuals, reverts, Spine Transfers, Wallplants, Flatland, Acid Drops and more in which is great

The challenge system is great and the online multiplayer is fun and stable.

”The Soundtrack and the wonderful world of licensing”

The soundtrack is peppered with nostalgia and a couple of questionable trash tracks and its a shame some of the bangers from the originals are missing.

Gotta love soundtrack license's. Although there are suggestions this was Tony's choice. However, some of the choices make me think that its a licensing issue rather than a choice.

I do struggle to understand the choice as Goldfinger played such a vital role with Superman in 2 and 1+2. Also AAF use Tony Hawk sound bytes before they play Wish at their live shows. I witnessed this at Graspop 2025.

Not to happy with these bangers being left in the past... this is just my selection there is so many more missing, which sucks

  • The Ramones – Blitzkrieg Bop
  • AC/DC - TNT
  • Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Fight Like A Brave
  • Goldfinger - Spokesman
  • System Of A Down – Shimmy
  • Zebrahead - Check
  • The Mad Capsule Markets - Pulse
  • The Distillers - Senaca Falls
  • Alien Ant Farm - Wish

”No Element Skateboards?”

I cannot believe Element Skateboarding have been omitted from this game, gotta be one of my favourite IRL skating brands and the brand has appeared pretty much in every other game and was a heavy focus in 1+2. Very disappointed to see them missing as they are iconic!

”Wrap up”

The game engine is fantastic and runs buttery smooth, which is great when busting out 1,000,000 point combos. I was a little worried after Vicarious Visions was absorbed and chopped up. But Iron Galaxy had a firm base to build on and I'd say they've done a great job.

Even though they had to have their arm twisted by Mr Tony Hawk themselves, I have to give them props for re adding Bam Margera.

Like him or not. Yes he has had a troubled life since Ryan Dunn died, but Bam was one of the icons of the industry and a true legend of the time. Putting him in will lessen the negativity the THPS4 streamlined career will have for sure.

I hope the rose tinted glasses brigade don't ruin this momentum with review bombs for something they think is better than it was.

Who knows perhaps we would have got a remake of THUG?

I do feel that 1+2 was made with more love and attention than this entry and it feels rushed in some aspects. Especially the challenge system and the restructuring of 4.

I reckon 3 should have been in the original 1+2 as DLC or just in from the beginning. 4 perhaps should have got the full remake people are clamouring for.

However I reckon the crybabies would complain either way

Wreckfast
”Drive hard, Die Last”

A fun game from the original makers of Flatout (The proper Flatout not Flatout3)

Huge amount of car variety with some stand out favorites for me like a Nissan Skyline R33 and a Volvo 240. Huge amount of tracks with great car combat, I like the handling style is kind of sim cade the cars have weight to them and the drive type makes every car feel unique.

The graphics are really nice and the carnage that can be on track is quite spectacular. Love it when tyre walls get completely destroyed and the tyres end up flying around the circuit.

The AI is quite strong as well. Racing and hitting hard in equal measure.

Multiplayer is active and stable.

The one negative for me is upon starting the game for the very first time the Highballer achievement popped as it did for a lot of people. I would have happily grinded for that. But now it feels hollow. Weird bug that the final achievement pops on start up

Stray
Linear and Kind of boring

I still reckon a mixed review would be a nice option but between Recommending and not it has to be the latter.

I appreciate it was made by a small Dev team and the cat animations and movements are fantastic,

The game itself I just find tedious and I'm gonna get 100% uninstall and probably forget about this game.

Its one of those games that comes along and breaks the internet with overwhelmingly positive reviews via herd mentality. ITS NOT A BAD GAME, its just a tad dull and over rated.

This video sums it up for me

Sons of Valhalla
”My Name is Thorald Olavson ”

Side scrolling combat with base building and a narrative driven story.

Its not overly complex but this is their first title and its pretty good. The artwork and sound is very nice and everything is voice acted as well. The game-play loop is satisfying and doesn't overstay its welcome and needlessly pad itself out. Had they dragged it out and padded it up it could have dragged a little. A great little indie title and I'll be interested to see what this Dev studio does in the future.

Lots of Viking myth so anyone who is a fan of this will enjoy. Ranging from Odin & Loki to Hel & Niflheim. Some nice touches like Heimdall guarding the Bifröst and Geri and Freki by Odins side.

The only flaw I came across was the immense slow down in horde mode. I love the fact that arrows stay in place in this game but in the horde when a metric tonne of arrows are trying to be rendered it causes the game to chug.

The ending gives us a cliff hanger with a to be continued. I would like to see more of this game to be honest, I enjoyed it

Early Access Review
Schedule I
”Casual, Cathartic, Fun”

An unexpected banger from a single developer that is blowing up at an astronomical rate hitting 455K peak in its first week!

Demo's are important / Breaking my own rules

Now I've been burnt by early access so many times in the past that I actually stopped buying them. Even games by devs I liked or you can tell they have a high chance that they are going to be good I still refuse to buy them in early access.

I saw this pop up on my store page on the 1st of April and I had actually never heard of it prior.

I gotta admit I thought it was some generic asset flip Steam garbage that you see all the time. But it was on the main page so I hovered my mouse over it and saw the reviews so I was like, ok what is this?

Upon seeing the hype it was receiving and the fact it had a demo I thought what the hell lets try it out.

3.5 hours later I bought the game despite it being in early access.

The Game

You play as a drug dealer who grows, packages and deals products. Once you get a big enough customer base you can then hire dealers and workers and go from a small time dealer with two plants in a motel to a full on Kingpin with warehouses and a whole team of workers.

The game has a really chill loop and sense of progression. Easy to start playing and lose hours, just fun.

Mixing different strains to min/max your output and cater for customers needs.

The game has a of Rick & Morty kind of aesthetic, at points you would almost expect a customer to shout “SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!"

The game even has a CO-OP mode which I have yet to try but it sounds like a great laugh.

It also has really great music.

TVGS is constantly releasing updates and has a roadmap, this is really confidence inspiring as he became a millionaire overnight and could have easily cut and run. Fingers crossed this continues.

The Lawsuit

How to destroy your companies image overnight 101.

Jealousy is an ugly trait. It definitely seems this way to me. How many other ways can you make a drug dealing simulator? It almost seems like they are jealous that their game never had the same reception. Movie Games SA should have just tried to ride this wave and slap a big discount on their titles DDS & DDS2 because the chance of people who enjoyed Schedule 1 wanting more and finding your games we very high. But instead you went and pulled a Nintendo

While the lawsuit might not have gone ahead yet, for a large Dev to attack a singular Dev in such a way is going to turn the community against you. Its unlikely you'll shake that negativity, you are not Nintendo and even they can only pull so much.

Final thoughts

If you are on the wall about this game try the demo. It has plenty in there and you'll be able to tell if you like it very quickly.

I am looking forward to how this game develops.

Take a bow TVGS!

Demo's are important

I gotta admit when this flashed up on my Steam store page I wrote it off as some abandonware gimmick that Steam is full of. Then I saw the reviews, then I saw it had a demo, so I thought what the hell.

3.5 hours later and I love it. Staff, Stock & money management, Rick and Morty like aesthetic and surprisingly cathartic game play loop.

This is why Demos are important. I Hate buying early access as I've been burnt too many times. But you know what? I'm gonna take the gamble with this one and buy in EA as I want to play more!

DREDGE - The Pale Reach
”Super Short DLC”

Now the dev's were totally honest with this DLC stating "1-3 hours of content playable at any time in your playthrough"

This was 100% true for me as I 100 percented it, all 8 achievements in 105 minutes.

If you are a fan of Dredge and wish to support the devs this is a nice little addition.

Just control your expectations its like a larger side quest.

Anyone who is a fan of Dredge and supporting small Devs will have no issue here, you could always wait for a sale.

DREDGE
Lovecraft + Fishing

In the age of electricity and oil, my tugboat ploughs through waveless liquid soil
Cruising at thirteen knots on pitch black sea
There's a strange object on the radars in front of me. Still nothing I can see
Just an open dreary sea

Several attempts to contact that what appeared to be the size of a ship
No response 'till I receive transmissions of hostile nature
These voices cursing my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ name
Hell, is this witchcraft or am I insane?

All of a sudden a dark silhouette ascends through ghost like mist
While it comes closer, I recognize the image of an old deserted ship

I am aghast at the sight of a derelict vessel sailing this awkward night, appearing like a black floating cadaver
There's not one single man aboard
Her torn sails cloaking her like a cobwebbed widow, posing against this sad nightmarish horizon

The temperature suddenly dropped
My great-grandfather's clock, just ticking, now stopped
I am smothered by a sudden shroud of fear
For there's a ghost ship 'pon a funereal quest
With a black bird circling hypnotic around its rocking empty crow's nest

Fortunately this atrocious mystery sets sail away from me
Some sailors claim other seamen beheld such sights
Most died weird deaths during fog-clad days and nights
The ship vanished as suddenly as it appeared
Should I feel fear? Was it even there?

Red Dead Redemption
”Hello old friend, its been a long time”

14 Long years Rockstar
For a wise man, you are a very stupid man, mister.

Now I know Rockstar have a knack for leaving the PC user till last, but 14 years is a little overkill. After 13 years of waiting I really wanted to play RDR2, I'm a bit of a stickler for playing things in order. So I got Xenia Canary and ran a X-Box 360 emulation of RDR1 which ran flawlessly I enjoyed the story and the gameplay and I thought that was it. Then finally the official PC release happens giving us full mouse control and HD support.

Now I don't know about you. But I would have released this on PC 6-12 months prior to the release of RDR2, strike while the iron was hot so to say. That would have just printed money! They hide behind their excuse of spaghetti code and hardships but honestly I just don't think they cared. Oh well we have it legit now and can play with M&K properly with HDR lighting, native 4K resolution at up to 144hz . 100% this then I can finally play RDR2.

Red Dead Redemption
Now I ain't the judge, but...as it turns out, it's you or me. The way I see it, might as well be you."

Set in the dying days of the old west. John Marston, a former outlaw has to track down the last remaining members of his old gang the notorious Van der Linde Gang.

The world is alive with random events, side missions, live animals which you can hunt. Minigames when you want some downtime such as Poker and Liars Dice in local saloons. Bounty hunting, clearing gang hideouts.

Holds up amazingly to this day. Gun-play is weighty and satisfying, controls are tight. The minigames are great and you can find yourself playing poker and liars dice for hours.

Fantastic story and characters. Superb location and atmosphere. Fantastic sound and music. It really is just another Rockstar Masterpiece.

I really don't think there is more I can say about this 14 year old game that won't already be a known factor.

Its an amazing game!
It took too long to come to PC!
Facts!

Undead Nightmare
"Come out! I don't bite. Bad joke."

The Zombie Apocalypse in the old west.

Vibes from so many things, L4D, Dead Rising, Night of the living Dead and maybe even some Indiana Jones.

In this DLC you get to see characters and the world differently. Ammo is scarce at first and you have to build up your arsenal by saving cities.

No money or minigames this time around.

Probably a good 10-15 hour DLC if you want to 100%

A nice addition
