I love this game. And Space Age starts really well. Then you get to Gleba. Gleba absolutely ruined the game for me, it operates so fundamentally differently. At first I thought it would be an interesting challenge, but the timers on things are *so* short that experimentation and trying things out is rewarded with "your whole factory grinds to a halt, lol".

The rest of the game is great, but I don't know that I'm ever going to come back, because I just don't want to deal with such a fussy set of mechanics.

And hey, maybe you'll love Gleba. That's fine. Different tastes. For me though, it completely ended my interest.

Absolutely incredible already, the science based mars colony sim (not explicitly mars, but...) that actually takes the science of colonizing a planet seriously. Complex construction and resource processing chains, interesting waste management, atmosphere and temperature management. An absolute delight already.

While it doesn't reach the high highs of Homeworld 1, it's another workaday entry in the series. I like a lot of the new ship designs, and the environments are beautiful. The story so far lacks some of the initial emotional weight that other entries in the series had.

Edit: Sony undid their disaster of a PSN policy. Reverting my review to positive.

This game rules.

Save system isn't ideal, a few bugs, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if this game isn't a masterpiece in spite of all that.

Entirely forgettable.

Not a particularly fun experience, as the destructable terrain can degrade the environment in ways that feel broken or unfair, the gunplay is weirdly soft, the movement gets hung up on things all the time, unlocking new items takes forever.

And there's a ton of waiting. Waiting for lobbies, waiting for the game to launch, waiting when you die (and then again when your team wipes).

The cheesy one liners are poorly written and grating, and the gameplay environments (particularly the Las Vegas map) are samey and difficult to navigate.

This game is missing a lot of what made sim tower great. Particularly managing elevators, but also there's a bit of a lack of character to the building itself.

Absolutely incredible city builder. It's so nice to have a city builder that doesn't focus on traffic simulation, but instead encourages you to think about the amenities in a neighborhood and what they need to grow and develop. The mechanics are simple, but very well balanced -- the resource tradeoffs you make feel natural and fair and challenging.

High intensity, but bite sized exploration puzzles. Fantastic game and easily worth twice what I paid.
