Not much to say, it's rdr2, I can't tell you anything others haven't said. Superb game.

Absolutely amazing game that evokes a spectre of emotions: from the joy of exploration to the fear of the unknown. A great mix of exploration, survival and crafting/base building. Very interesting and diverse set of game mechanics that almost never let you get bored, intriguing lore and creative writing as the cherry on top.

I'm both excited to share my love for the game and at the same time I don't want to spoil anything. I'm just gonna say this game easily makes it to my personal top 10.

Gems like this are a rarity, I'm sure glad I found it.

Don't get me wrong, the game isn't all bad, at it's core it's the same Gothic we all love. It was good enough that I finished the game and had lots of fun for 70+ hours.

The reasons I'm not recommending this game are following:

1. The world isn't immersive. It didn't seem convincing from the start and it only became less so the more I played the game. The lore feels like the devs came up with it on a whim, it doesn't feel like a deep and alive world I'd want to believe in, it feels like a joke. Even the factions' names are a joke: Berserkers, Clerics and Outlaws, really? And it's nothing original either, this is a copypaste of the Old Camp, New Camp and Swamp camp from Gothic, just with bad names and lore that feels like it was made by a procrastinator who slacked off until the last moment to come up with this.

2. The overall feeling of incompleteness. It feels like the game is still in EA with all the bugs and how rough the game feels sometimes. Maybe if they had more time it wouldn't be a problem.

3. The way the devs handled the storytelling. Don't wanna spoil anything, but the options you are left with are a real bummer.

Overall though I can't say it's a bad game, I did enjoy a lot of it, it just got me frustrated for the three reasons I mentioned above, it could be a great game if not that.

A very satisfying game that lets you lead a tribe of paleolithic people into the iron age.

But the best part is that the developers are still adding new, game changing features after the release. A rarely seen dedication that deserves additional praise.

Early Access Review
I've been playing the game since the July Alpha/Beta and I must say that the game's making great progress, shows great potential and that I think TW does a good job. I'm talking about Multiplayer only.

At it's core it's the same Warband, but better. We have everything WB had: the speed damage bonus calculation, 4 directions for attacking and blocking, almost all more subtle features like feinting, chambering, kicking and crush through are there, even if they still require quite a bit of tuning, and on top of that we recieved combos, rapid acceleration/deceleration for cav, sideways moving for cav, shield bashes and stances. The only feature that was in Warband but I failed to noticed in BL is the ability to do an overhead with a polearm and not harm your teammates, which was extremely useful in teamfights and was used extensively in tournaments, but it might make a comeback. It's not a revolution, but an evolution of the combat system - exactly what the devs have promised us and once it's done being polished and fine-tuned I can safely say that I'll be able to sink in another 10 years in the game(but honestly, TW, don't take that long for the next sequel please).

The rapid acceleration/deceleration feature(on double W/S) for cavalry is probably my favourite feature as a cav player. Once I tried it I couldn't play Warband anymore, it instantly felt outdated and the horses there started resembling scooters. Add to that the obviously superior horse animation of Bannerlord and I was instantly sold. And since I started talking about animation - it's superb, those bucks spent on mocap were definitely worth it.

Now I'm not a fan of captain mode, but skirmish definitely feels fresh and is a lot of fun. I really hope TW is going to introduce ranked matchmaking soon so I could enjoy sessions against evenly-matched teams. And even though I miss the good old battle mode, as well as the old classes system that let you pick 8 slots of equipment, I'm fairly sure it'll be brought back with mods, so I'm not worried. And siege, well, I don't need to tell you how great it is, it's probably the only mode that received universal praise.

The devs themselves have demonstrated again and again that they listen to community feedback, but try to keep a cool head and have an opinion of their own. For example when I joined, the game had huge issues with blocking and skating - both of them were fixed, however the plea to remake the classes system received a hard no with reasonable explanation and a revelation that this decision wasn't made on a whim, but was a result of a hard and long debate among the developers. The cav nerf was unnecessary though imo.

And the devs also showed that they are willing to go at great lengths to improve the game using our feedback - the classes received a full redesign with the help and initiative from the community. I believe no one after that can say that the devs don't listen to the community without being dishonest. We could use a bit more info on what's going on behind the scenes, but it seems that they have their reasons to not reveal that and I respect that.

Overall though, I believe the game's going places and I'm happy to be on board.

Keep it up, TW!

Probably the worst Total War game. Also, women generals in historical total war line? Seriously?

I wasn't even able to start playing the game with my friends because we couldn't connect to each other.

I actually had some fun with the game. I'm mostly leaving a bad review because devs decided to spit in my face and make the game for which I paid FREE.

Also game has A LOT of cheaters, but so does almost every popular multiplayer game.

I bought this game 4 years ago and have been patiently waiting for it to be finished. It's still a buggy freezing game it was back then with new features that I hasn't been able to experience due to the aforementioned problems.

And on top of that I also feel cheated because my loyalty and patience didn't pay off - I didn't recieve anything for supporting the game on it's early stages and the game is on sale now so I could just buy it today for less money. Dissapointing.

The game has a lot of balance and connetion issues, also glitches and bugs consistently appear every now and then. But the game is really fun, and I enjoy it a lot when I'm not frustrated because of beforementioned reasons.
