Great game so far. You don't need to worry about the cash shop, it's just stuff you'll earn in game.

It's diablo 1, in VR, and that's absolutely brilliant.
So, theres a bit of a learning curve to getting into it, and thanks to its RPG nature, you can end up making a 'build' statwise that can make playing it a bit of a slog to start out, but all issues like that are solved in time if you put in enough effort, both physically and through time simply spent learning the in's and outs of the games mechanics.

After playing for almost thirteen hours, I can't say i've quite reached proficiency as other players may have, but I can say i'm starting to find a niche way of playing that I enjoy, that being archery supplemented by magic.

Swordplay is pretty decent, but your damage I think is partially related to how fast you swing your weapon, with bigger weapons requiring two hands to swing effectively, which is a bit weird when you aren't actually grabbing one heavy thing in real life to swing. Similarly, thanks to it not having weight in real life, beyond whatever your controller weighs, you can't use the weapons weight to aid in downward strokes and such. This lead to, for me, a poor impression of two handed weapons, so I stuck to one handed ones and shields when I first got started.

As I explored more of the dungeon in Legendary Tales, I grew stronger, through repetitive use of attacking and simply surviving. Gearing up, I managed to find a bunch of Dexterity granting gear, which lead me to my niche of bow use. Archery doesn't have the problem of needing to swing your controllers at high enough speeds to count as an attack, you simply loose an arrow and, can loose as many arrows, as you can nock and release them.

Magic is magic, with spells being quite expensive. In my perhaps short time compared to other players of playing Legendary Tales, i've only managed to afford two spells at this time, that being the Fire spell, and a Lightning spell. The fire spell does a short DoT which was handy in the early floors but is somewhat falling off in utility as my int is still quite low due to focusing on Archery, which lends itself to benefitting from Dex, and Trains Dex up in use of weapons that benefit from dex. The lightning spells utility however remains, as it provides a cheap, effective stun, that lets one stop an enemy in their tracks. This has saved my bacon many a time from the fire, as I can just stun an enemy giving me trouble and riddle it with arrows in rapid succession.

All of this of course, requires you to move your body. Being a gamer, i'm not exactly the healthiest of individuals, so I grow worn out quickly, but the experience of Legendary Tales still drags my tired and sore body back to its dungeons door steps time and time again, as I seek treasure and glory in its halls.

I give Legendary Tales a thumbs up. Try it if you have VR, it's a great time if you can get into it and understand its nuances. It's not trying to be a VR Dark Souls, it's more like, a VR Diablo 1.

Hard Mode makes you feel like you're hitting enemies with a limp noodle. Other than that, fun game I guess.
