Played for 30 minutes or whatever just don't buy it even on sale, abandonware. Very sad. Guess I'll stick to Silent Hunter.

TL:DR: So far very fun and very intuitive, the toolbars are helpful and its exactly what Vicky 2 could have used to be more user friendly. If you liked Victoria 2 simply for "seeing toy army men move around" and RPing as a white nationalist ethnostate and deathstacking the AI. This game is not for you.

This game IS for you if: You like seeing green GDP bar go nyooom and seeing fake pops be prosperous and happy.

Pros so far

• Tooltips make the game very easy to grasp from the tutorial
  
• Game looks amazing, the best looking PDX game to date.
  
• It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Vicky 3 man we've waited 12 years.
  
• Nudity is an option

Cons so far

• Game crashed on day one but that's to be expected lol
  
• I highly dislike the mana mechanic and its one of the big reasons I was never into Imperator Rome
  
• Prussia is not Yellow by default
  
• AI is VERY wonky and probably smoked a blunt or two.

Shooting and general combat is broken af and I wouldn't have it any other way 10/10

If you can get past the 8 year olds that play some servers, and the rampant memes. this can be a genuinely scary game. Play on a roleplay server for maximum spooks

TL:DR: Feels like a completely faithful recreation of what made AOE2 a masterpiece along with some new game-play additions


Gameplay

Some might consider the gameplay "safe" as to say nothing is new, but that's what you get with RTS games especially one as old and legendary as AOE, you don't have to change anything.

The Addition of an additonal Victory Condition in the form of the "Holy sites" is a welcome addition to help feel some freshness.

Graphics
------------------------------------
Now here is where my opinion will differ GREATLY from the negative reviews, The graphics are completely acceptable and my 2060/Ryzen5 3600 Rig runs the game at a smooth 100FPS on ultra 1080p.

Some may call the graphics "toony" but IMHO If you come to an RTS game expecting groundbreaking graphics you have not graduated highschool.

The Future

I am certainly hoping and looking forward to more factions being added, but the game has only been out for less than a month now, so we will have to wait and see.

Gameplay 10/10 Legendary Fun
Graphics 9/10 Not perfect, but nothing really is.

Absolute garbage bin of a game, with terrible optimization. years worth of development and fundraising hell [pun intended] all for a game to BARELY crack 60fps at 1080p on high.
