Laika: Aged Through Blood is one of the first games where I did 99% of what there is to do and kept wanting more, and while objectively there are issues with the game you can definitely point out - most of the quests in the game are fetch quests, the combat is extremely unforgiving and the bosses are not hollow knight level (they play more like bosses in Ori). I want to get those out of the way because to some they hear these things and deduce the game is not worth their time, ofcourse its their money and time however I think they would be sorely missing out. I'm a person who if I had known many of quests were fetch quests I would have never bought the game but thank **** I didn't when I bought this game.

Laika is absolutely magical, the music, the art, the writing - its all so consistently amazing and coherent that I don't know how this game hasn't got more praise. The gameplay is as I mentioned earlier pretty unforgiving but its fun ♥♥♥♥♥♥, I've read other reviews saying it gets boring once your halfway through the game but to me the upgrading system, weapons you unlock aswell as how by progressing in the story every stage gets incrementally harder, so that your never breezing through places kept it fresh in my eyes. This game has become one of my favourites of all time, where this game gets it right - it gets it RIGHT.

The only gripe I have is that once your done, your done. The story is absolutely amazing if a little overboard with the "you gotta remember this is a dystopia setting" tone but to me I cared about almost every single npc in the game. The writing is perfect.

Play the demo, if that doesn't grab you by the collar then it might not be for you.

One of the most gorgeous games I've played, and the sound design is phenomenal - I thought risk of rain 2 was as good as it gets. All this being said it is a hard game (unless you play as huntress) so you should be mindful of the fact that you will struggle before you succeed, I have 200 or so hours on risk of rain 2 and even with the familiarity of the IP I'm still struggling to consistently get past stage 2 on rainstorm (medium difficulty for those not inclined). But the replayability here is no joke.

Cannot recommend this game enough, especially it being on sale.

Whatever you do play this game with friends. And when you do you'll understand why i told you to do so, assuming thats how you will play the game. I cannot recommend it enough, £2 on cdkeys for a game worth tens if not hundreds of hours of gameplay is no joke. However be sure that its an experience you are interested in. For the king is a Dungeons and Dragons esque game where you and two companions embark on a journey. Loot is random, the map your adventure takes place on is random and that simple fact allows for replayability even after you've beaten all the different stories in the game. Only needing a mouse to play, for the king makes it very clear very early on that "skill" isnt a thing and the only determining factor of how successful your journey will be is your ability to think outside the box (and get lucky with a nice item or two). The duration of each adventure will take around 10-20 hours allowing you to grow attached to your run and character, aswell as the stories you make along the way, yet not too long to where being wiped out is the end of you playing the game entirely as you can make the progress you lost pretty easily. I promise you catch this game when theres stock on cdkeys alongside the amazing dlc and you will not be disappointed

A game that you have to experience to understand, as the fluidity and enjoyment that comes from using mixups built in with your own custom deck is unmatched. seriously, this games combat is so much fun with how creative you can get and how unique it is in idea and is the only reason why i recommend this game, because aside from that this game doesnt have much to offer. Spoiler free, this game doesnt have much content and i was able to beat it in one sitting (10 hours is a long one sitting but i told you the combat was fun already). And while the PvE IS fun, it doesnt come close to the satisfaction of playing against other players, especially friends where you are able to move around your deck to constantly be out-manouvering each other. Get this game on sale, and play it with friends.

So far this game is something I've never encountered before. The story is fiction but so grounded in reality at times that the fiction becomes real, the plot is well layed out for you yet intricate. i suspect things will only get more confusing as there's literally a mindmap of the different plotlines so you can keep up. The only negative ive found so far are 5 or so second load times when entering important buildings, it breaks the immersion a fair bit, and combat is a little clunky which is fine as its nowhere near the focus of the game and rarely needed. Something i gotta mention is the horror can get really good at times, which pleasantly suprised me. Definitely worth checking out.

Never been into smash-like fighting games, but this game really dragged me in with its simple basics but high ass skill ceiling, nothing as satisfying as hitting that combo you been practising for the past 30 minutes and i can see myself playing this game for a long while

A metroidvania with amazing exploration, numerous heavily contrasting areas with complete different gameplay mechanics, a world that truly makes you wonder and try to piece it together. All with great combat and some "holy ♥♥♥♥ that just happened" moments, this game suprised me.

Now after finishing it, this game is up there with hollow knight for the absolute wonder of a story and exploration. DO NOT SPOIL THIS GAME FOR YOURSELF, go into it blind.
