I have a lot of hours in the game, most of which was prior to the Planets update. The game is really fun, however trying to play online is a troublesome experience. Even the official servers have a problem where when they restart (every 6 hours) they don't say anything, and you lose all progress 30 minutes prior to the restart.

Also, don't even try building underground. It works fine, up until you and your friends re load the world and everytime it takes more and more time to load, waiting as long as 20 minutes for it to stop streaming each time

There is also a huge lack of actual things to do, and since building underground or any sizeable ship just creates server lag for anyone near it, it doesn't leave you with much to do


Me and my group of about 5 people, spent about a month and a half playing on a server for a week, and then the server just is slowly riddled with long load times, randomly losing ships, desyncing, crashing and more.

We also ended up just renting our own server, which was working great initially! However again, building underground even just a little bit creates a ton of issues, and it seems the longer the server is up, the more random bugs, player disconnects and more that happen. Essentially tricking you into investing a bunch of time into the game, only to be essentially unplayable.

Its cool for spawning big stuff in on solo and crashing stuff though. It has its place, but you end up losing literally days and days of progress from super common bugs. Games like 7 days to die you can build underground no problem, never have any of these types of issues. Space Engineers is just sort of an empty game, which seems like they left it up to the modding community to add real content to the game

The developer certainly has put some effort into things, however it still seems like an early access game. And sadly enough, the game seemed to have less game breaking issues 10 years ago, prior to adding planets

Game is good. The gunplay is not like COD, the kill time would be similar to Overwatch.

You gotta give the game a solid 10 hours of playtime before you can give it an honest judgment. It's very unique, and if you can get 2 other people to play with you then that's also ideal. If you have to solo, I suggest sticking to "Bank It" (you can get away with bad teamates on this mode)

My personal set ups;
Light - Cloak, Sawed off shotgun, Gas grenade, Stun gun, Invisible grenade
Medium - Turret, Grenade Launcher, zip line, gas mine, Defib
Heavy - Charge, Lewis Gun, Bubble Shield, RPG, Barrier/shield

The set ups are really important, changing one thing dramatically effects how you play. Weapons all have a pretty quick damage falloff when it comes to range. I find that each weapon you pick, you really want to keep enemys at a certain distance range (depending on weapon)

There is literally a hacker in just about every lobby that can crash your game, teleport you anywhere, spawn in whatever they want...and its been like this for months, don't waste your time like i have been.

My son is 3 years old and he LOVES playing this game with me. I probably wouldn't play this by myself, but its defianatly great for playing with kids and stuff.

One review said that its hard to replicate an already exotic vehicle, and honestly that's exactly how i feel. some tracks just allow you to go too fast, and with the rear steering you obviously turn too sharp and it gets weird. They actually have it where you can steer with the front and back independantly to solve this!

So if you are looking for a game to play with someone younger, defianatly pick this up. It's more than just driving around, you can actually do missions and stuff with them too!

If a strategy game/first person shooter sounds interesting to you, get this. If you are looking for a AAA Shooter, don't get it just yet.

The game is in early access, so there is some tweaking to do but overall there isn't a whole lot of bugs. It just came out of closed beta and they have already done a ton since then.

The RTS: If you have played nuclear dawn, it's a lot like that but you can actually command while moving around.

If you are looking for a finished product, wait to get this. It is a very fun game with friends, but offline modes aren't as enjoyable AT THE MOMENT.

Played this game when i was about 4 years old! (Born in 95, 20 now) But i think my grandma threw it away because of the "Horrible Title" Took me years to finally find the game, i had forgotten what it was called. Found this a couple months ago, I was SO EXCITED!

The best part is, its still totally playable. And its super cheap!

Like many others have said, it has a pretty good AI system.

Although I still havent figured out if you can attack move? (Which is sending units to move and attack on sight) Funny story, I clicked attack on a position thinking it was attack move, couldnt figure out why my units were attacking units i couldnt even see...it was the ground LOL.



*Also for those of you that want to play a more modern version, there is planetary annihilation: TITANS. Isn't the same game but I do enjoy it!*

For those of you that are looking for a moba/rts/fps, this is your game! I'm so glad i finally found an alternative to battlezone!


UPDATE: In the current state the game is in, it's not very balanced. Multiplayer is lacking right now, but if you just do co-op (You/friends against AI) then its fun.

Havent ran into too many bugs really, hasn't froze at all for me!
