If you have any interest in trains, this is hands down the best train simulator I've ever seen. It's only 40 bucks? That's one tenth the cost of a model locomotive. The lighting is phenomenal, and matched in its quality by the sound design and physics. The game is less than 5 gigabytes and has great performance on my 3070ti and ryzen 9 with 32gb ram. The focus is put on the gameplay and details on the train models, but the environments are well thought out and engaging.
I find myself driving the starting locomotive, the DE-2, on a hauling job and just enjoying the sounds and scenery. Devs seem very active and passionate. I can't recommend hard enough.

From a very concerned, extremely loyal fan: TheCrazyDog
If you don't believe my 'game time' due to me playing it before linking it to Steam check me out on Thunderskill or some other 3rd party skill checking website about my time in this torturous 'game'. I have subjected myself to it since Mar 10, 2013.

New Players considering this game:
Avoid this game at all costs until earth shattering improvements are made.
I want to warn away new players from Gaijin's torture software called War Thunder.

I have over 7000 hours in this 'game' in 10 years of playing faithfully with a huge number of purchases over 700 dollars worth, I still have not reached top tier in more than 1 nation out of 10. This pace is unacceptable and its own world record of suffering for a 'videogame'.

I have played this game for 10+ years and finally realize that Gaijin, the company that makes this game, won't stop lying to our playerbase about creating a fun experience. Gaijin and their devs have continually ignored our feedback and treat us with patronizing condescension at every turn. I remember when Gaijin promised they wouldn't include in War Thunder vehicles like the A-10 and yet now they are some of the most expensive premiums of any videogame I've ever seen nearing 70 dollars. Bombers were nerfed to the ground in hitpoints, are reduced to 4 per game, and have become unplayable. In the last 4 years especially, the greed and grind of game design choices has turned unbearable. I remember 900% boosters. I remember the even better First Win bonuses.

The grind is broken, and we all know it. Gaijin has created inside War Thunder, through this broken grind, the class of vehicles known as farm vehicles. The gift/grey market impossible to get vehicles are cash grab scams that put a minority of players in the lead. There are still less game modes in this trash pile 'game' that feels like work than a sandbox simulator lobby or a AAA title such as Call of Duty.

To Improve:
Gaijin must actually consider player feedback
Gaijin must make available all vehicles for purchase at reasonable prices (Maximum 15 dollars each) this will give advantage of economy of scale as more people will afford to buy.
Gaijin must reduce prices on every premium vehicle by over 10 times.
Gaijin must improve the SL and RP gain by at least 10 times across the board for every game mode.
Gaijin must folder MORE vehicles NOT unfolder them. This will reduce frustration.
Gaijin must remove the requirement to have 5 vehicles per rank researched just to move upwards because not everyone cares about obsolete vehicles.
Gaijin must slash the repair costs of all vehicles to one quarter of their current costs or we will all move on to better uses of our time in life.

In conclusion:
I will not spend 10 more years just to get my second nation to top tier, I will continue to go elsewhere for fun instead of being talked down to by a group of monopolistic, antagonistic, game devs who previously made a halfway fun game.
I will take my friends, family, and anyone who listens to me away from the awful War Thunder game.

Gaijin specifically says that if they close the game down it will be a 'loss' for everyone, but they don't understand that I don't care if Gaijin or I 'win' anymore due to their bad intentions. It will be better for everyone if Gaijin 'loses' and someone better takes their place.

Gaijin are reaping the reputation they sowed for themselves with their choices now.

I really want to love DCS. It has so much potential, but it seems to be missing vital user quality of life on all fronts. The cost of each individual map or even a couple planes easily adds up to hundreds of dollars. Quickly you realize that there's not much going on after you've done the few missions in the plane you choose, and the multiplayer is laggy and not fun without a community of people to spend time with.

I believe the IL2 Sturmovik Battle of series has a much better pricing scheme which gives you a huge map and loads of planes for a fraction of the cost of DCS.

I want to love this game, but it beats me up any time I come to play it again.

My Summer Car is as rewarding as it is frustrating. I find myself pulled into 1990's Finland in this magnificent survival horror simulation that is Finnish life as I desperately dodge bad drivers and death around every corner on the way to the grocery store. The hours you throw into this game are all a fight for every inch of progress which makes the final reward for your skill intensive strategies that much sweeter. I love this game, it's more than entertainment, it's a lifestyle. No progress is safe in this permadeath surivival simulator, and each cigarette and drink could be your last before completely starting over. I find myself hoarding inordinate amounts of booze and sausages and pack ratting them all over Alivieska.

If you buy this game, strap in. Seriously, you might die without your seatbelt.

The game is released as an alpha access, and it shows. On top of that, they peddle it for 39.99. The game is said to be a beautiful realistic experience, but most of it is portrayed in spreadsheet type layouts. The layouts spill over the sides of my moniter when set in its native resolution so that I can't read costs correctly, the UI is very wonky and seems to have little organization involved.

Having said these things, the combat, once you learn how to do it, is quite realistic and a bit fun. The combat is definitely what this game has going for it.

Overall the game didn't meet the expectations it sets, and the only thing justifying the purchase at the 40$ price tag is promise of the game costing more in the future for content which might be developed in the future.

I sent in a refund request and hope it gets fulfilled because I could spend 10$ on Sid Meier's Pirates! and get a much more exciting, immersive, fun game set in the 'most beautiful period of naval history - when sailing ships ruled the seas.'

I wanted this game to be good, but it's just not there, and it's not worth 40$ as is.
