I played the closed beta, the open beta, then release.

The best iteration had to be the closed beta. The connections felt the cleanest, the moves and counters were crisp and on time.. It was a fun game.

Open beta was the beginning of the end. Connections were bad. Consistently bad. Moves that you memorized to counter in the closed beta were now off time, and although not impossible, the muscle memory developed from the closed beta resulted in having to almost entirely relearn the timings.

The release was an accumulation of all the terrible qualities that plagued this game from the betas and earlier. Some flaws were okay to live with, but the P2P, terrible release, and continious degradation of the gamestate resulted in one of the most disappointing games I've ever played.

This game is the reason I no longer support Ubisoft. It's a shame it took me this long.
