Great game

Graphics: graphics have improved since the first game, not a lot of jagged edges.

QOL additions: new features such as holding tools while running makes the game a lot better.

Base building: really has improved, base pieces tell you if you cannot build in that spot by highlighting the obstacles that are in the way, and with new base features and more ways to decorate your base.

Biomes: biomes really have improved, biomes no longer unrealistically just end and then start up, they slowly transition to the next biome with biome features being mixed in between each biome, and not all biomes unlike Subnautica has just sand for the seabed, biomes like the tree spires and purple vents have a nice rocky ground texture and the lily pads biome having a really nice green grassy texture, and each biome looks a lot more full of life with a massive amount of plants found in each one of them.

Story: story has greatly improved with the addition of voiced characters, the first game was quite quiet on the story.

Vehicles:
Seatruck: great vehicle, with the ability to choose how you want to go for what you need is very useful, and is more balanced than the overpowers cyclops
Snowfox: great new addition to land, faster land transportation, and can be put in your inventory like the Seaglide

Creatures: quite a bit of creatures are really good, although some creatures like the discus fish are in locations that makes zero sense for their coloration, and nice to see some scrapped creatures from Subnautica not be wasted.

Although this isn’t Subnautica 2 and is just a spin-off of the first game, the devs seems to be going the right direction with this game and fixing many issues they had in the first Subnautica game
