Liar.

The Emperor protects.

Fantastic game. Looks incredible, feels good to play, story is interesting, and it's a decent challenge. What's not to love?

Game is great when it works and I've had a lot of fun with it both on here and on the 360 back in the day but the sudden price increase to $69 CAD one a 13 year old game is absurd. Avoid it.

This game is a huge amount of fun. The setting's great, it looks nice, it plays/handles well, and I expect that once the problems are fixed it will be my GOTY but the problems are currently considerable.

At the time of writing, I'm experiencing regular crashes, my weapons disappearing at random and never getting them back in mission even when respawning, the game has cut my audio and keyboard on several occasions, requiring a full restart of the PC to get things working again, and sometimes getting stuck in animations for things like checking the map, throwing strats, etc.

I'm still going to recommend the game because it's genuinely good, but I'd hold off until the worst of the problems are fixed.

Edit: They've since made it necessary to have a PSN account linked to your Steam account to play the game. Switching my review to negative until such a thing is corrected.

Price increase after 8 years. ♥♥♥♥ right the ♥♥♥♥ off with that.

I stacked enough fireworks to crashed the game. 10/10, would absolutely go mad with power again.

I've never played HOMM, but I've quite enjoyed my time with this so far. The gameplay is solid, the art style is just gorgeous, and it's fairly easy to pick up while having some real shenanigans when you really get going. The map editor is decently easy to use as well, which is a massive plus for me. There are still some bugs/desync issues my friends and I have run into on occasion, but the game is early access. I'm confident it'll be ironed out. I wholeheartedly recommend this game and hope it gets the attention it deserves.

Core gameplay feels good, but the monetization is awful and the lack of content is painful. Maybe I'll recommend this a year from now, but for the time being it's a no from me.
