Gonna preface this with this game is not another CP2077. This game is complete and has a clear direction. Nothing feels missing, nothing is undercooked. You're getting a full package. But, this game got some problems.

Consistent visual hitching that doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason as to why. New area? Hitch. Jumping over someone to reposition? Hitch. Boss doing an attack that you have barely a second to react to? Hitch.

Sound bugs seem to kick in at random. Cutscene after CAC just cut out after 3 seconds. Boss music will cut out, arrows(either mine or not) will just not make a sound after let loose.

Ran into a crafting bug. You know how if you pick stuff up off the ground, and you go over your inventory limit, it goes to storage? Doesn't always do that for crafting. Your crafting materials or what you craft can just disappear! I lost 100 bone knives worth of bones from this.

Last bug/glitch I've encountered is that I dodged the first attack from the Grafted boi from the trailers. Dodged so good I went through the floor and died.

But with all this, game is super pretty, the open world is a ton of fun and allows absolute freedom to approach problems however you want. Areas, bosses, do whatever you like. Wish the whole game was like this, it's great, some of the most fun I've had with an open world game in years.

Now the non-open world segments, the dungeons and more scripted segments. That's still classic Dark Souls to a T, to where they even remove newer mechanics during these sections. It's Dark Souls down to the ♥♥♥♥ ton of barrels, oh man I hope they don't explode from someone throwing a firebomb at them if I walk close, part that's been in every single Miyazaki game for the past 11 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years. Huh, this is a small ass ledge, I hope I don't have to deal with a high health shielded enemy that takes up almost the entire ledge. Hope the first main area ISN'T A CASTLE AGAIN.

So if you just don't like Dark Souls, sadly you're still not going to like Elden Ring. If you like Dark Souls, great. This is 10/10, greatest game ever for you. This is very much another Dark Souls game with optional open world content. It doesn't deviate from the formula as much as Bloodborne does, and sure as ♥♥♥♥ isn't anywhere near of a deviation as Sekiro.

I want to like this game. It seems like the sandbox, kind of slow, trudging, rags to riches do whatever you want type of timesink that I love.

But this ♥♥♥♥ just don't work. Constant crashes with some just crashing my entire rig. Everytime I validate files, something is just missing. Doesn't read mods half the time, have to dump the whole file and redownload just for the game to read the singular mod I have downloaded. Seems like an amazing game, but after 8 hours of trying to figure it out, it just doesn't work.

And before the "hurrdurr your computer is just a toaster" squad comes in, rig is an i5-9600k, 32gigs of ram at 3200mhz, a 1070, and it's running on an SSD. I should be blowing this game out of the water.

Trash game. Just disjoint everything, why try. Pick a top tier, pick giant disjoints that are faster than most the cast's pokes, and just lul through everything. And these characters just keep getting buffs too. Movement and the requirement to have meter to do anything fun still feels like ass in comparison to Rev 2, 100 hours later. Done with it. Staying off my SSD

Best game of 2021. Better movie than the GOTG movies, and plays like GOW without Atreus whining and instead get 4 of the best companions in years.

Meltyblood: Halfmoon is bumming me out. Was really looking forward to it so I could play with peeps without having them, or me while drunk, jump through hoops for the Community Edition and Concerto. Just pick up the game, join a lobby and have a good time.

But this auto combo system.

I have problems with my nervous system, so my hands do involuntary things sometimes. I overcome that *most* times by just forcing a double tap. If you double tap in this game, on any button in any offensive situation, you get an auto combo. Try to BC BC AT in the air? BC AT, or just B AT. The training mode input list doesn't even pick up the second input, the game just does it. This auto combo system is intrusive as ♥♥♥♥. This also extends to Blood Heat and Force Release. If you accidentally do an auto combo in Blood Heat, you may also accidentally do Force Release. Wow, such choice game, so good. It's basically Halfmoon the game if you played AACC, but Halfmoon mechanics were even MORE annoying.

Game also crashes on alt+tab, which I do frequently. Has almost no graphic options so keep that ♥♥♥♥ windowed so the pixels ain't stretched, cause the game actually looks really good. And plays really good outside of the auto combo system. And Warc is not a clunky ass character anymore. This game bums me out.

Refunding it, I'll pick it back up the instant they either tone down how intrusive the auto combo system is, or put in an option to turn it off. Like KI. A game that came out 8 years ago.

Have fun getting 3maned constantly if you're playing solo, also matchmaking doesn't work for ♥♥♥♥. Level 12, going against prestiged players.

Edit: Just after this. Made sure 3mans were turned off. Spawned right next to a 3man, lowest person was rank 60.

Pros
+Character and monster design is amazing. You get a lot of weird and wacky designs, all of them greatly detailed and varied. Character creation is wild for how simplistic it is.
+World is completely gorgeous, vibrant, and varied with the biomes, it feels like this is where most the work was put into with how amazing this game can look and probably the only reason why I'm going to continue playing this game. If the world was a little more stylized, it'd be Ghosts of Tsushima levels of enthralling via environments alone.
+Crafting is very in depth, with tons of bits and bobs that you can add and swap out to make very varied equipment. It falls short once you learn to make strong gun and just pow through the rest of the game, but the crafting options it's self has plenty of depth between weapons, gear, and vehicles.

Meh
=Combat is meh. It's serviceable. The weapons do damage, you have some special abilities(most don't matter) and special moves(these really don't matter once you just start dodging and shooting everything). It doesn't feel weighty at all, very floaty feel to it. Shooting feels decent though. Actually feels different enough with all the different mods and how it works with some of the abilities you can learn. Shooting is going to be the majority of what you do in this, whether you like it or not.
=Story is meh as well. It's a cohesive story that's good enough for an overarching goal, but it's lacking by not giving a ♥♥♥♥ and everyone being talked over by a single narrator so you just feel no connection to any of the characters who have like, maybe 5 lines of "simlish" in total.

Bad
-Audio design is atrocious. The music may as well not exist, severe sound balancing issues/problems abound. Melee attacks sound flimsy with light weapons sounding more meaty than heavy weapons, some things just don't have sound like a falling character hits the ground and just nothing audio wise happens. Easily the worst point of the game and can be fixed easily by another mix.
-The gameplay loop and having to run everywhere is like, the most egregious open world ♥♥♥♥ ever. There's so much traveling through nothing happening, all the time. Early game quests can require you to travel 2km just to travel another 2km for the next point in the quest. The brief bits of combat you get, the combat is just not good enough to carry any of those bits.

Still gonna give this game a recommend, with the caveat of do not get this game for more than 40 bucks, 30 bucks at the recommended. This is not worth a AAA price with how it is now. But the exploration, environment and character design, and crafting is very good for any game, but everything else is either meh to downright terrible.

RE8 release, game freezes my entire computer within the first 5 minutes of it running. Tried reinstalling drivers, turning off any and all overlays, reinstalling the game, deleting any file related to RE8 and reinstalling again. Nothing different. Great launch Capcom, adding Denuvo or whatever the hell you did different from the demo seems to have done the job of not making your game playable and actively harming my PC. Round of applause. Demo ran fine, final release is ass. Flushed my excitement of my most anticipated game of 2021 straight down the drain.

Edit: Finally got the game to run in windowed mode. Bye-bye immersion. But now it crashes in the cutscenes. So I can play the game, if I skip the story. What the ♥♥♥♥, Capcom

Edit, Edit: Still a trash PC port 5 months later. Everything was left at the lowest options, fps locked at 30fps. Still using all cpu power, still crashes whole rig within the first 30 mins of playing. Good Job capcom, fastest selling game in the series still without a fix.

Haven't had a game where I'll play almost 30 hours with a bunch of friends over a weekend in a while, but Valheim is the newest one to do just that. It's a little glitchy which can ♥♥♥♥ you over, but it's also a game made by 5 dudes and has been out for less than a month. The sheer amount of content in this game already as an EA title is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fantastic at an indie title price. A great combat system, building system, and boss designs is making this a game that I might pour enough hours into to make it into the Minecraft for me. Super excited for what Iron Gate has in store for us.

Feels like they stripped out the gameplay from Doom, took out glory kills, and went WHAT IF IT WAS ROGUELIKE! Game is a ton of fun, and the onslaught of bots feels like the onslaught of demons. Shooting and movement is fast and snappy, guns vary from normal pistols and assault rifles, junkyard chain-shotgun, to snowball tri-launcher. Game is so much fun, can't wait for them to finish off the areas in the game.
