This game is a pain in my ass due to Albus feeling like he has a NEED to get crit from orbit and dying constantly.

But it feels great to play with a ton of skill customization even upfront that puts most games to shame.

Bruh Hell Let Loose needs a tutorial over basic mechanics unique to this game. I hopped in for my first match and somehow got the commander role and was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CONFUSED as to why people were yelling at me about supplies. WHATS A SUPPLY? HOW DO RECON PLANE? YOU ARE A MANPOWER, WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME?

This ♥♥♥♥ is a mess. Their take on Quake 2 worked perfectly and that was years ago. Either it doesn't load, or my mouse is clicking on my desktop even tho this thing takes exclusive fullscreen to the extreme, or the RTX just doesn't want to activate when the game just finally decides to work as a GAME. Injecting RTX into older games is rad as hell, but make sure it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ works. I'm on a 3070TI which is above minimum so it should at least work.

Game requires tinkering(Turn off Vsync, Motion Blur, and DOF. Switch to DX11) so that you can avoid the absolute stutterfest just running it vanilla causes. It's stupid but at least it's fixable which is better than most bad PC ports.

I'm a lil' over 2 hours in and I've been enjoying it. Spoops and scares and body horror is up my alley. Other than the performance issues, only problem I have is the game throws jump scares at you a little TOO often. Otherwise the game is a blast, good 8/10 game.

If you want a horror beat'em up, it's a good game. If you want a TPS like Dead Space, just wait till after the first 3rd of the game. The ammo economy gets nuts if you keep exploring.

If it wasn't for the low price of admission, I'd say no. For a game that's been out for 4 years, it's not the most content rich. The core gameplay loop carries hard and the modding community carries even harder. Which sucks since, looking through most the mods, either by Warpfrog's design or not caring for the community enough or both, any mod not designed for the current update(Current is U11), is a crap shoot if it works or not, most the times not.

So you have this healthy modding history for the game, and a fat majority of it just doesn't work unless it's been updated by the person who made the mod. Even if it's just a sound file.

But, being a Blades of Chaos wielding, spellslinging, jumpin' and shootin', fry pan wielding psycho jumping and running around to a dynamic combat version of Bury the Light, while getting more of a workout than most Rhythm based workout VR games, for the price of 20 bucks? You can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beat that.

Got back to this after it stopped being hot and looking up how to access the campaign. Game got some problems. Just in comparison to Boneworks, aim feels wonky, climbing and mantling are atrociously bad, jumping feels like it has a giant delay, and things get stuck constantly. Game is super janky. Also this just doesn't work with my Valve Knucks. Game crashes on start up. Had to dig out my G2 controllers.

How to access the campaign is inexcusable. It's just bad game design. Unique doesn't always mean good. Having nothing to tell you that you have to complete the 3 left activities and then do a crane mini-game, just to access the campaign? I expected to just have one of the activities to be the campaign, nope. And looking through the forums here and on reddit, the difficulty of finding the campaign is pre'common. It's not a good

But the modding community is bumping, https://mod.io/g/bonelab stuff is getting added and updated daily. If SLZ could just fix the core and let the community go wild like last time, this'll replace Bonework's spot on my most recommended VR games. For now? Just wait. The jank ain't worth it.

NEW AND IMPROVED WITH ROLLBACK

Got a few issues with ranked matching being wonky but thats already been announced to being worked on.

Lobbies are back to being alive and having people in them. Nature is healing.

In matches have been great, tried 2 bar connection fights and they've been smooth. It does get obvious when someone is just not running at a solid 60fps tho. Please just turn your settings down if you don't, you're ruining the experience for you and your opponent.

This a cute game, the game is exactly what the marketing has been shown about. 1 day before the first competition, will update once I get later into the game.

Also Mint is a treasure.

Edit: I'm still going to give this a recommend, but I'll slap a warning here. The game ramps up in difficulty quickly from things you have very little control over. 9 days to prepare is fine, but you also have to deal with the RNG of ingredients. And you may just not get ingredients you need, either from the guild or Mint. Had to restart from an earlier save because I just could not get an ingredient that had enough C magimins to make the cut for the 2nd competition.

So the game gets stressful fast as you're juggling min-maxing ingredients, the relationships to get new cards(and cute cutscenes), shop upgrades, etc. Would like a calmer game mode and/or an endless mode along with the current game mode since this game was obviously intended for stress with stress just *being* a game mechanic.

OROCHI SHERMIE STILL DUMPS DAMAGE BIGGER THAN HER JUICY DUMPY. I CAN PLAY BOTH OROCHI SHERMIE AND REG SHERMIE NOW. BETTER GAME THAN 2002UM. GOOD DLC.

It's boring, it's a half-life game without a sprint or proper jump button? When compared to games like Boneworks(The true must-play VR title) this game feels like babu's first VR title. You only move slow, which is weird enough for Half-Life, inventory works by throwing things into the aether behind you, there's no holster, no melee with props in the world, not a whole lot going on with physics puzzles which is the Half-Life staple, the only thing immersive is the production value. Which feels insulting when you play the plethora of indie titles that just ask if you suffer from motion sickness or do you just want to MOVE. If I could just get Boneworks with this production value and full narrative single player campaign, I'd be the happiest gamer.

This game also just refuses to load into a map half the time. Sometimes I get in on the first try, sometimes I have to restart the game up to 5 times to load into the map. And I'm just on chapter 3. And this refusal to load a map can happen when I'm going into a chapter. I've tried lowering all my graphics to the lowest, still just hangs for 10+ minutes until I give up and restart again.

Sucks since I wanted to get to the Jeff part that everyone says any horror fan should play, but I ain't getting there if I'm fighting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game every step of the way just to work.
