This game is all the things and it isn't even finished yet. It has some quirks and flaws though that eventually become endearing less than frustrating. Sometimes it's hard to tell if something is intentional, or just early-access roughness. The weapons are terrible in the most wonderful way, but combat isn't really the focus. The true joy is building your sci-fi factory and watching raw materials turn into actual items, optimizing, and dealing with the wonderful problems of routing parts, generating enough electricity, finding recipes, and generally "making the numbers go up." It does all this with beautiful graphics to boot. My only complaint is the way radiation works. Basically, the it can lead to huge areas of the map irradiated so that you HAVE to wear a radsuit. This game far exceeded my expectations for an early access title. Finally, for my fellow penguins, this game works very well with SteamPlay (Proton).

I wrote this game off as another indie/early access failure, but the devs have really stuck with it and patched the hell out of this thing. They've clearly worked hard and it's paid off in a really fun game. I wasn't a die-hard DK fan back in the day, so I've come to WFtO without that perspective. I haven't finished the campaign yet, but based on how hard I had to fight to shut it down and go to bed last night, I'd say that's a good sign. I'll update once I've completed it.

DO NOT BUY! The developer has stopped updating this game and has stated he has no plans to finish it!
