It's a really fun, cute little game. Admittedly short, but it's free and enjoyable and that's all that matters.
I'd recommend going for the 100% on achievements since they're all fun.

If you use a controller, you can completely ignore this review, as it is largely aimed at my grievances with mouse and keyboard.

The game is marred with a very notable amount of problems that makes this flat-out aggravating to play on mouse and keyboard. The dodges are somehow more unresponsive on mouse and keyboard according to my peers that I played with that used a controller, and the crystalize tutorial flat out soft-locks you because you can't escape to bind the key and it's unbound by default. You cannot bind the R key without it defaulting to the Shift Key and in general it feels like an actual afterthought to have mouse and keyboard.
Maybe they'll fix it later down the line but it managed to burn me out fast with this.

On the actual gameplay side, it's alright, the alternate attacks have too narrow a window and the audio/visual signal is too unnoticeable and thus easily missed. I haven't played much simply because of being burned out from the technical issues.

On that note, needing to basically rescue a random guy before you're even allowed multiplayer with your friends is silly and an unnecessary way of barring co-op. If you want to restrict public lobbies like that go ahead, but not with your buddies.

Overall, this game left me frustrated despite it's potential, but that is exclusively due to my experiences with a mouse and keyboard.
With a controller, your experiences may differ, and the developer's clearly wanted this to be the main method of playing the game. I can respect this, but I just want to play this game with my friends, and I can't do these with all these issues.

After a ton of time into the game; it ultimately boils down to being yet another live-service game that while it has good underlying ideas, just fails to capture the lightning of Vermintide and is stuck with too many flaws and issues with it's gameplay systems to truly be worth sticking around for. From the awfully grindy itemization, to the lack of QoL without heavily modding the game, to ultimately feeling like Fatshark is just a headless chicken when it comes to actually developing this game. The content cycle takes too long and you're basically stuck waiting a quarter of a year for a single map, woooo.

And the technical issues - they are far too many. It was fun all these hours; but I would recommend others to just find a different game over this one.

I can't believe I payed only 22 euros for a bucket full of content.

And I loved every second of it.

Plays into my bad spending habits but I like the game so its fine.

Fall Guys is a life lesson about how much you hate humanity except now its beans.

Honestly Steam just wanted me to review something and thought I'd grab a low hanging fruit.

Its the game where you ♥♥♥♥ your sister, conquer Europe and reform the Hellenic faith just after the Pope gratefully sponsored you in establishing the Holy Roman Empire. During all of that, your child, born through extensive eugenics and possessing a Strong body, a Genius mind and being highly Attractive, will probably die of Cancer at the age of 4, leaving you with the Inbred idiot child that you sired with your sister as your only Heir. This is all right before the Aztecs sail in from America and start conquering France, Spain, Britain and Iceland. You then become bedridden and incapable with a disease that the Aztecs brought with them from America. During this, that one stupid Count with 25 Intrigue who you always hated will come along and at the last moment before your death, bribe all the voters to vote for him, causing him to now lead the Holy Roman Empire. He then proceeds to mismanage the realm to such an absurd extend that, when the Aztecs invade the HRE, you are the only one left to stand in their way, with that same Count trying to imprison you without any other reason other than it feeling like doing so. The HRE shatters, the Aztecs take your wife and your inbred son and sacrifice them to their gods. They then revoke all your titles, safe for 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ island on the other side of the World as you watch your life's achievements go up in flames. Finally, your court physician makes you an Eunech to cure your disease.

And finally after all that is done, the Count that ruined the HRE ransoms a random courtier that they took prisoner for 10 gold to you. He will ask this every month and as it turns out, he's got your entire court. You will be pestered by the man that ruined your creation, every month, until the end of your dynasty's days.

But before you die a random Nomad "Emperor" in the Steppes wants to marry one of your courtiers to one of his courtiers.

Honestly if you're a nerd for cardgames but want a game that delivers both fun cardgames AND character, this game is for you.

In no other game will a massive try-hard dragon fetishist call a 10-year old girl a third-rate duelist with a fourth-rate deck.

Feeds new players to the sharks; get early after a wipe or don't get there at all.
