Lifelong halo fan here, to say that Halo Infinite was a disappointment is... putting it lightly.
Nobody likes paragraph reviews, so I'll make my points separate.

The campaign: Completely time skips the big bad enemies from the end of Halo 5, brings in the enemies from Halo Wars 2 with no explanation, doesn't make any sense lore wise, who cares about plot holes? What about the big character reveal at the end of Halo Wars 2? Zero mention, what about the Spirit of Fire? Nothing. By the way the big bad guy from HW2 is dead, no one knows why. Oh wait the post credits scene reveals he isn't dead! So everyone was wrong! It feels like they're trying to give a soft reboot to the series, and they failed miserably.

The multiplayer: Incredibly boring compared to other entries in the series. They removed beloved mechanics from Halo 5, made an annoying mockery of the Infection mode, the announcer is the most ANNOYING thing ever. The devs only care about pushing an INSANE amount of micro transactions, and they seem to have abandoned their well rounded battlepass system from before.

The community posts: They will make many community posts speaking of adding more micro transactions, and pushing DEI content. If anyone critiques them, speaks their mind, or expresses disapproval, they are permanently banned from the community hub.

It hurts me to see the series I grew up with turn rancid like this... also friendly reminder, this game is their 10 year plan. We have to deal with this slop for another seven years according to them.

At times it can be fun, looting, farming, and building is enjoyable. But even on the lowest pop servers I could find, there's always a lingering feeling of dread in the back of my mind. "Am I going to get randomly sniped? What if I run into someone? Should I call out to them? What if they shoot first? Am I going to log on to see that I got raided overnight?"
Having to assume everyone's out to get you isn't nice on the mental aspect. There's a few common complaints I've seen as well: No changing your player model, no single player, toxic and racist players. The first and third points go hand in hand.. if the game decides you're going to be a black man, there is no way you can change that. And some players will attack you solely for your character being black. Like I said, lotta racist players on here.
Having a constant feeling of anxiety outweighs all the positives of this game for me, and in the 20+ years of games I've played, Rust is the ONLY game that does this to me.

Updated Review
I really wanna like this, but so far my first impression is not great. On a high end PC the game keeps freezing for about ten seconds, and it completely stops responding if I tab out, forcing me to close it.
Up to date drivers, RTX 3080, and a Ryzen 9 3900X.. may as well be a 2010 laptop I'm playing on :/

Update: After getting about 75% through the story, I didn't run into anymore freezing. I've also went into multiplayer and haven't had any performance issues yet. The game still completely bricks itself if I tab out while in a discord call, but strangely enough when I leave the call I can tab back in fine. No idea how I would even fix that honestly, makes streaming the game difficult.
But besides that, I'm quite happy with the game. I'd give it a solid 7/10

Early Access Review
The game is fun but can be reaaally aggravating to play. Don't get me wrong it's fun to tinker and learn the work stations, but this game feels like when you were being held hostage in math class. You have to solve a problem but you are REQUIRED to use a certain formula, it doesn't matter if you get the same answer, or if it's easier, or if it's how you prefer to do it.. YOU NEED to do it that way. For example, you are required to disassemble every part of every gun to advance things. You have to clean and oil every part that's dirty or that you worked on. How did a polymer frame get dirty or rusty? Dunno, clean it. Oh by the way, don't forget to o i l that plastic grip. If you want to touch a specific piece that you know you can just take off, you gotta remove a bunch of other stuff first. I'm not gonna talk about how opening the paint menu threatens to crash the game on an RTX3080, just fix it, thanks. And the game acts like it's gonna die when you load in anywhere. There's a few times where I got every needed part, but the game said "no" and decided I couldn't complete those jobs, so I had to load a save, the Mauser is cursed. Final note here, sometimes the game will force you to go to a range to test a gun you worked on, instead of doing the in workshop test. On that note, the workshop tests are weird.. pull the charge handle back, now pull the trigger on safe, now do it again on semi auto, now again on full auto. Now *load bullets* and pull the trigger. Sheesh.
I feel like the game could use some polishing all around, make it so you're not restricted like crazy, and maybe make it so we can keep an inventory of parts.. that way everything isn't on demand.

I'm so glad I watched the skyrim concert just to hear that half of the songs had people telling their life stories over them.
The game is nice, concert was nice when they were playing skyrim music, instead of space game music or having people talk over ONE OF THE BEST SONGS IN THE SOUNDTRACK.
