I sat on this for a while, let my feelings on the game marinate before I wrote a review.

I genuinely had a fun time with this game. It was the only game I had fun with this entire year (up to now). I don't regret spending the money I did on it, and I loved every second of it.
The reason why this is a negative review is simply this. My only problem with it:

I wish I could've played it longer.

I wanted to spend more time in the game, but the game is too short. Everything else about the game was so much fun, the only thing I hated was that by the second city I was already finished the game. It was devastating. Capcom needs to add free patches or additions to this game to extend the playtime before I can recommend it.

A good base, but has a bug where when we load into the second map we crash, host and other players included. It's free today so get it but I think this should remain free until they fix the bugs.

I watched a mentally ill schizophrenic man play this game because he had a gambling addiction and could only gamble with a farmed resource.
Through him I learned that a lot of items in this game can be earned, by trading with other players. The in game economy is strange but it works and I never have the feeling of FOMO because I could just grind for platinum in game and in real life :)

I love this game so much.

Don't play this microtransaction hell, if you want to actually play the game you need the seasonpass, there's no main story to play for free, and the Expansions aren't worth it (maybe except for Witch Queen).

A lot of things have gotten better in regards to the grind and QOL but a lot of things are also timegated, they lock you out of being able to get gear or weapons if you aren't here every single day of the month so new players will feel like their arsenal of weapons is always and forever, underwhelming and limited. If you're an old player from the Red War every single one of your guns is basically useless now and you'll never be able to get them again.

Don't play this game because eventually if you put too much money and time into it, you'll feel like you can't stop playing.

Well, my framerate sucks and the only way I was able to start working on a build I liked was after genociding some midgets who will 1-shot me if I get hit, but thanks to that I'm getting pretty good at mounted combat. Elden Ring feels pretty slow compared to the Souls games, but I do like the aesthetics and the many different systems the game introduced.

My hand hurts from claw gripping my controller so I ended up switching to keyboard/mouse...

My favourite part about the game is the fact that we can craft our equivalent of embers.

I'd recommend it only if you can handle a bit of a slow broil, I'm sure you can rush to the finish line, but this game seems to punish you if you do. You kind of have to set aside the fast-paced linear dungeon crawl of the DS games to appreciate your time on this game.

Broke my game with mods and I never complete any of the MSQ or DLCs because I ended up downloading 150+ mods and something conflicted and destroyed my save.

Someone invaded me in the Road of Sacrifice and couldn't find me because he invaded me while my friend and I were in the swamp, but eventually he found me, unfortunately for him, I was heading down a very long ladder. I can never know what was going on in his mind when he saw me, but I guess he was very excited because he sprinted towards me and attacked me... he hit me... but that swing brought his body forward and he fell to his death.

I was actually climbing back up the ladder so I could greet and bow to him.
