Somehow completely forgot to review this. Absolutely incredible game and easily the best game released since Disco Elysium -- even if comparisons made with that game should only be in regards to quality.

Pentiment takes a very different approach to the traditional RPG, focusing significantly more on expression than definition of the player character. Andreas is less defined by the background choices you make for him, than by the every-day interactions with the characters regardless of "plot" significance. This, combined with the textual density, makes what in lesser titles are more or less rote interactions for guidance -- ludic or narratively -- with defined "good" and "bad" style routes enthralling. While this, and the great narrative, would set this near the top of the RPG pile, what really elevates it are the thematic through-lines on as varied topics as faith, history, art, and identity. Pentiment provides more the deeper you dive into it.

Oh yeah it's also just a blast to play! Every one of the over a hundred(?) characters are distinct and memorable to talk to -- even if they're the worst. Even when failing at everything, it's a joy to be able to live in their world of such interesting people.

Presentation is top notch and I have nothing more to say about that.

Easily within my top 10 games I've ever played. Please play this game.

Just about perfect as an arcade-y shoot 'em up can be, even if I'll never get any kind of good score at it. Superb presentation all around. Just amazing game.

Pretty good, if a bit simplistic, twin stick

Cool game with some interesting twists on the tower defense formula, but the sheer length of it -- not limited to just single maps -- kept me from sticking around too long. Also a bit of overload of rpg mechanic microbonuses but it somehow fit and didn't distract too much.

Killer soundtrack, interesting if not quite as original setting as the original, good assortment of weapons, a pretty good if unevenly utilized enemy roster, and a novel framing to the traditional key hunting retro fps. A great game but not an all-timer for me.

Great collection of short but well constructed point and click adventures. There is a bit of "oh I was able to interact with that?" in the first two, but those issues are done with by the third entry which is by far the best. On my rating scale I'd rate them 4,4,5 for 1/2/3 respectively, but this review is for the whole package, and so.

Lot of fun to slowly conquer the planet slowly gathering resources and building up your honor guard but ends up kind of samey towards the end, given almost every mission is the same objectives and the bonuses aren't particularly great. That being said, until you get to that point it's a blast. Not as good as the base game but a worthy follow up.

Fun expansion with some really enjoyable characters brought to life with stellar voice acting -- Sturrn and Gorgutz steal the show -- that has some less than ideal mission structures that I found very difficult to get through. A good time, but I checked out early.

A lighthearted short adventure game in the context of Renaissance paintings. Good stuff even if slightly wonky in places.

Bite sized. Fast paced. Difficult. Great music.
