I've spent at least 14 hours of the 28 hours played in queues. The time in game the matchmaking was pretty much completely broken. When playing, the game is pretty fun. I wouldn't recommend paying for it until these issues are resolved.

What a good JRPG! I was really jonesing for a good one to play on my SteamDeck when I travel. It plays flawlessly. It's got a wonderful story, and the options of picking up certain characters and "saving" their stories for replay-ability is wonderful. I'm just scratching the surface 28 hours in and I can hardly put it down.

Great narrative, amazing visuals with only a few drops here and there (3080 on high at 4k ~80fps on an LG C1 48" 120hz), satisfying combat with interesting team controls. Like a game inside of a movie. I would say the difficulty varies pretty widely among encounters in this game. Some encounters I'm smoking through enemies, and others I'm on my 10th attempt and counting. All-in-all, a great overall game. If they made a sequel, I would certainly buy it at full-price.

Man I love this game. The persistent adventure and exploration is fantastic. I answered a distress call and was put right in the middle of a dogfight between a couple dozen pirates and a few freighters. Though the combat was a bit sluggish, I did have fun trying to fight them off!

Also, I got to name something Blistered Tiger Pups. Sooooo... there that.

I'm sad the release was terrible for lots of people. I've had no issues or hiccups, rocking ultra everything at 90fps. (I7-6700k, 16gcb 3000 ram, ssd, 980ti). But i did have a friend that had a pretty freaking rough start. I wish it was a smooth launch so I had more people to chat with about gameplay rather than technical failings. But nevertheless, it's an issue. All I can say is that if you have a system similar to mine, you'll *most likely* not have any problems. And if you enjoy open world exploration, navigation and little bit of grinding, then this game is for your. My only bit of advise is be persistent, you may start off on a crap world, but that just makes the discovery of awesome planets and moons even that much more awesome!

Listen up ya primative screwheads. This game is legit. Easily one of the best games I've played in years. It's an amalgamation between Harvest Moon and Recettear. It balances farming, with social interaction and adventure. I find myself loving the dungeon crawling - and just do a minimal amount of farming. It's balance of repetition is good, though at times, still feels a bit routine. Nevertheless, that is absolutely expected in a game like this and I rather enjoy shutting off my brain while slowly making progress on my own time. There are interesting fantasy elements that I absolutely love.

I do have an issue with CPU optimization. I rock an i7-6770k with 32GB ram and 980ti GPU. This game maxes out core-1 at 100% and will occassionally cause some jittering. It's not a deal breaker, but can sometimes get annoying. I prefer this with a mouse and keyboard, but will occasionally use SBP with a steam controller - it works fine.

When I first heard about this game the initial one-liner stood out - Skyrim with guns. It seemed like every semi-sandboxy FPS game was being hailed as that. Yet, over time it really is quite true. The amount of exploration and depth is quite amazing. The storyline is quite good as well. But that's just my initial, 200 character or less impression.

Mechanics: The mechanics are prett smooth. The UI, as well as the gun UI and the menu system is quite fluid and can be mastered fairly easily. One issue I have with the gun UI is that there are 8 different options and it's easy to select the wrong item/weapon. What's worse is that your switch weapon key, or 'Y' if you use a 360 controller, only switches out between the last 2 weapons. So if you selected C4 on accident then you now have a sniper rifle then C4. Frustrating during hectic moments. Yet, when discussing with friends, by the time you unlock the extra holsters (gun slots) you should've, at least theoretically, mastered the UI. The driving is pretty good, you can certainly tell the difference between each of the vehicles you drive - be prepared to just run past a couple of them saying "f that noise". The wingsuit and paragliding? Once you get the mechanics down, awesome fun.

Graphics/Audio: Great! I'm rocking an AMD setup with a 9790 3gb. No hiccups whatsoever. I do have a buddy that has an 7850 1gb, and there's some hiccups when there's some battles going down in open terrain. The view distance + explosions + everything else does tend to drop the framerate below 15 at times. (running a 1080p) Still, it's a visually stunning game with some very good charatcer portrails. THe audio is fantastic - great ambiance from wildlife roaming around to the creaking of radio towers as you climb.

Story: Excellent. Very well-written. It can draw out at times, while at others tend to leave you wanting a little more. However, the storyline is so convoluted that if you put it down for a month, you'd have forgotten what's happening in the Far Cry Universe.

Multiplayer/Co-op: Multiplayer is pretty standard, but nothing to write home about. It's certainly not it's selling point. The co-op is quite fun, but not really a lasting appeal. I play a lot of BF4 so just a disclaimer, I have some pretty big FPS bias - good and bad.

Overall: I give this game a 9/10. It's solid FPS with a great sandbox feel. The storyline is pretty linear, but not so much that you have to feel like you're screwing things up by adventuring around hunting Vaas' & Hoyt's men or just going big game hunting in the caves. For completionist, you'll get 75+ hours out of the game. Fantastic dollar per hour value. I highly recommend it.
