I used to love Rainbow Six Siege, playing religiously and racking up almost 900 hours on the game. However, my enthusiasm has been completely destroyed by a year-long ban for cheating, which is a false accusation. This unfair ban is just one of many issues that plague the game and ruin the experience for dedicated players like me.

The lack of new content is a significant problem. For a game that has been around for years, the developers have done little to keep it fresh and engaging. The few updates that do come out are lackluster and often introduce more bugs than improvements. Hacking is rampant, and Ubisoft’s inability to address this issue has left the community frustrated and disillusioned.

The new ranking system is another disaster. It’s convoluted, frustrating, and makes competitive play feel more like a chore than a challenge. Skill-based matchmaking seems broken, leading to unfair and unbalanced matches that sap the fun out of the game. Map creation, which could add much-needed variety, is rare, and the new maps that do appear are often poorly designed and unplayable.

Balance changes are poorly implemented and seem to favor certain operators over others, disrupting the game’s meta and making it difficult to enjoy playing with a variety of characters. This lack of balance means that many matches are decided more by which team exploits the latest overpowered operator rather than actual skill.

Rainbow Six Siege has also become an absolute bugfest. Glitches and technical issues are rampant, and it often feels like the game is held together with duct tape. These bugs range from minor annoyances to game-breaking problems that can cost you matches and ruin your experience.

To make matters worse, Ubisoft has shifted its focus away from improving the game and towards monetizing it. Paid subscriptions for mediocre cosmetics and unappealing battle passes are the only things Ubisoft seems to put any effort into, and even those are half-hearted at best. The game has become a cash grab, with more emphasis on extracting money from players than on delivering a quality gaming experience.

In conclusion, Rainbow Six Siege could be so much better, but it’s clear the company doesn’t care. If you’re considering investing your time and money into this game, I strongly recommend against it. Ubisoft’s neglect and prioritization of profit over player satisfaction have turned a once-great game into a disappointing mess. Don’t invest in this game.
